My brother was convinced there would be a book called 'Air', but somehow I always doubted that, since Aang already WAS an Air Bender. XD
It would have been perfect for tying up the lose ends, but without a villain I think a fourth book would have been redundant anyway.

lol That is NICE. I knew they had different hawks for that reason, but I don't recall the avatar's group having a hawk.

I began to watch the episode, but it got really late and I never went back to it. Anyways, on with the disscussion that I forgot the topic to. XD (This one may be dropped as well. lol)

It was about carrier pigeons vs. Avatar hawks, and how the hawks should never be able to work the way they do in the show. XD

lol yeah. THey only go towards their mate. But I have to wonder, are they only usable when they have a mate? what if the mate died or chose another one cause it's mate is always gone? How bout if they don't have mates, or can't get one due to appearance or ability? I don't think that would help anyone.

Ha ha ha, nice! I love the expression on the soldier's face.
The owls in Harry Potter manage it. I'm willing to chalk all these super-smart birds' abilities up to magic xD

Thanks! Yeah, now that you mention it. But where the HP owls may just be super smart, I don't see how that is possible in the Avatar-verse. I think the smartest animal there is Appa, and I doubt even he would be able to go somewhere he's never been before, especially with little to no directions...
Most animals seem to be like Mo-Mo at best. Reasonably smart, but still completely incapable of understanding humans.

Except for the dragon-hawks. They're like living, breathing, handheld GPS systems. xD

The dragon-hawks? You mean from World of Warcraft, right?

No, from Avatar. Er. The messenger hawks are commonly called dragonhawks in fandom. You know, all the animals are conglomerates.

Yeah, I know that. Most of them are hybrids. But not all of them. I always thought the hawks were one of the few more or less uniform animals there. And I'm pretty sure that in the show they were always called 'hawks', not 'dragon hawks'.
Then there was also the Earth King's bear (Basco), which was just a bear.

Yeah, but among the fans, they've been known as dragon-hawks, so it's second nature to refer to them that way. Sorry to confuse. You know, a lot of fanfic/meta/roleplay calls 'em that, force of habit.
