Contest prize for: DaldDumboRat
Here's another one of the contest prizes I promised to provide for ~Vye-Brante 's contest. BaldDumboRat won third prize in that contest, so I drew her Raiwolf character for her. Raiwolf is apparently a cross between a Raichu and a wolf. It's also an anthro, which is why it has hands and a human-like torso. The last picture I drew was just a wee bit too cute and pretty for my taste, so I used this image as an excuse to draw something more fierce. I chucked Raiwolf in a combat situation. He's recovering of what could have been a nasty fall. But he seems ready for more action anyway!
And my lightning effects still fail...

I guess so. I always thought the PokΓ©mon breeding system was kind of weird. Two completely different species can interbreed, then they lay and egg (even if the parents are both mammals) and the baby is not some cross-breed, but the same species as the mother. o_0

Props to them for the innovative character mix, and to you for doing such a wonderful portrayal of it xD!
Love the very actiony pose, his expression is so fierce and determined, and the blurry outlines gives the image such a dynamic feel.
The tail looks awesome as well, I really like how it wraps itself around the picture like that. I've only ever seen it as the smooth plasticy looking slab, so having it enveloped in the fur looks really unique and innovative :3.

Heheheh, thanks. Yeah, you're right, it is an unusual character. But I have to be honest, I kind of gave it my own twist by making it even more wolf-like. My mistake, really. The reference picture I received showed it more Raichu-like (and female, and cute, and... it had classes).
Erm... so yeah... I asked Vye whether the winner thought it was ok if I changed a few things and she said she'd ask. But I misunderstood and thought Vye said 'I've asked. No problem.'
So I drew it and now I suddenly realized that I may not have the winner's permission to do this! XD
So uhm... Gotta wait and see if she'll like it. Lol. *Is nervous*
And you're right about the tail, it's nice to see it as a fluffy appendage for once, and not as a plastic-like... fin. That actually was part of the original design.
