It's an Avatar slash Mass Effect on Fanfiction that knocks your boots, socks and toenails off with its awesomeness. The entire Avatar universe has literally been made not just modern, but sci-fi as well! I cannot recommend it loudly enough

Of course, history buff that I am I really love the 20's aesthetic that the series actually had. And it worked well when the villains were analogues for Communists, Anarchists, and Fascists.

Can say that I'd love to see done up in the style of the 50's and 60's the most.

If only there would be another series, the setting would probably have to be pretty modern considering the style in LOK is kinda like the 1920s, and the next avatar would be a teenager at least another 70 years after LOK if Korra were to die of natural causes. It would be an awesome show!

There's two shows, Avatar the Last Airbender has Aang as the Avatar and central protagonist, it's sequel The Legend of Korra (which just finished a month ago) is set decades later after Aang has died and Korra is the protagonist of that series.

The Avatar is the only person in the world who can bend all four elements. When the Avatar dies, his/her avatar spirit (called Raava) leaves their body. Exactly at that moment, a baby is born, with the avatar spirit inside of him/her. So that person is the next Avatar. This process keeps repeating, so it kind of works like reincarnation.
