Description This is my part of the -late- Christmas and New Years gift art exchange with The theme was snow, and I ended up drawing a yuki-onna "snow woman", a Japanese mythical/horror lady. Check here for more info: [link]

I tried to blend my own style with the description of the cassical yuki-onna and this was the result. I played a bit with her kimono replacing the obi with a white fur corset And the flower patterns on her kimono are the snowdrops (or galanthus) which blooms in the snow.

It's a small drawing by 14.8x10.5cm (5.8x4.1in). I used colorpencils as always, and for the snow, white acrylic splashes all over.

Niina, sorry for the late reply, I was a bit busy. I'm glad you like your gift Actually your gift has arrived but to my old address, my neighbor there called me saying I have a package from Finland I couldn't go there and pick it up yet but it arrived safely, for your information. Beautiful take on this. The dress is absolutely amazing, a fusion of East and West. I love the snowdrops idea, since she could also bring life or death to whoever she came across in the snow.

I've always loved the stories about yuki-onna, but as you said, I chose to show her delicate side instead of the horror lady side You should try drawing one, too
