Lol, I know, but if I had to, I would go with the 2011 version. She just pulls me in more than the old one. However, the old one had a style all her own.

Thank you and I've noticed the same thing too. The newer design looks more like a a run of the mill manga character.

I like the color scheme of the newer Cheetara but prefer her original design. if the two could have been combined, it would have been the best of both worlds

RebelLunarstone In reply to BLUEamnesiac [2011-08-06 02:55:12 +0000 UTC]

It would have been the best of both worlds but then again as the old saying goes "out with the old tired worn out tried and true version and in with the odd looking version."

BLUEamnesiac In reply to RebelLunarstone [2011-08-06 03:09:44 +0000 UTC]

At least it's not too odd. When I first heard of the new series going into development, I was worried they would wreck everything. It's rare that old series get a good relaunch.

I can think of a couple of shows that were ruined beyond belief from 'Remakes' MLP NOT being one of them The current season of YGO is one of the shows that has gone to hell and one other that oh wait Pound Puppies. Remember the 80's version? Forget it! The current version looks like someone took a look at their child's drawing of the family dog and jumped up out of their chair saying 'That's the new look we need for the re-launch of the old classic Pound Puppies cartoon! But let's NOT stick to what makes sense, let's just go willy-nilly and make episodes that DON'T make sense!'

BLUEamnesiac In reply to RebelLunarstone [2011-08-10 02:09:34 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I've watched the old Pound Puppies and didn't know there was a new one. From the way you describe it, the new one sounds a lot like the terrible new Voltron and that one season of Transformers with the classic anime style. It would be nice if studios forced guidelines on anyone that continues or remakes a series, that way the core soul of it all is preserved.

you're welcomed for the ! don't worry about it. I wanted to login on Tuesday night but hubby decided to make Lasagna for supper and used hamburger that had been sitting in the freezer for god knows how long and I got sick and my stomach is just now starting to return to the land of the normal. How is it that I get sick and he's perfectly fine? I STILL don't get it!

BLUEamnesiac In reply to RebelLunarstone [2011-09-25 23:43:38 +0000 UTC]

Lasagna sounds good right about now, I haven't cooked one in a long time. I'm not sure, usually guys have a stronger digestive system? In all my life, I've only gotten food poisoning a few times and it wasn't even that bad. I wish I could return to the land of the normal, I'm always working myself to death on one project or another XD

RebelLunarstone In reply to BLUEamnesiac [2011-09-28 09:55:59 +0000 UTC]

While I was recovering from food poisoning they showed a commercial for Lasagna from someone and I nearly hurled when they said sausages and pepperoni thinking 'Sausages and pepperoni? In Lasagna? Gross! No way!' I make mine with hamburger!

BLUEamnesiac In reply to RebelLunarstone [2011-10-02 17:13:15 +0000 UTC]

I'd be sick to my stomach if I saw something so soon after food poisoning. I've tried sausage in lasagna before and never again since. It makes the whole thing too salty for my taste. Hamburger and maybe a few pepperoni slices on top might be good though.

My mom once made lasagna with Turkey, ground pork, sausages, pepperoni, goats cheese and some god forsaken sauce she found in the international food aisle. Mom was in love with it and raved about it for weeks on end to her friends while the rest of us suffered from nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. I wound up having to get my stomach pumped that very night because my stomach stopped digesting the food.

BLUEamnesiac In reply to RebelLunarstone [2011-10-11 15:26:39 +0000 UTC]

Yikes, I hope your stomach has recovered well. I would never add ground turkey to lasagna, doesn't taste right. And when it comes to sauce, I always make my own from scratch just like my grandfather did.

RebelLunarstone In reply to BLUEamnesiac [2011-10-13 08:21:17 +0000 UTC]

My Lasagna is quite simple 12 noodles in a large pot of salted boiling water, ground beef, tomato paste and spaghetti sauce in my electric frying pan cooking together then cream cheese and an egg as the binding agent,Parmesan cheese,a cheese mix if I can't get the brick marbled cheese then sauce on the bottom of a large glass casserole dish then three noodles, more sauce and meat then three more noodles, more sauce and meat, then I keep going until I add the cheese and binding agent then the last of the meat sauce and noodles then sprinkle the last of the shredded cheese and more parmesan cheese and into a 350* oven for 50 minutes then after it's done, out from the oven, onto a cooling rack to cool down for a few minutes to allow everything to settle then onto waiting plates and empty tummies.

BLUEamnesiac In reply to RebelLunarstone [2011-10-14 16:26:57 +0000 UTC]

Interesting, I've never used egg as a binding agent. Mainly because I make two variations of my sauce, one without meat and the other with meat, layering them in and out with cheese and noodles. I haven't used cream cheese yet, but Ricotta is close enough to it, just a milder taste.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RebelLunarstone In reply to BLUEamnesiac [2011-10-16 09:17:47 +0000 UTC]

I can never find Ricotta cheese anywhere. So I use either cottage cheese or cream cheese mixed with it.

BLUEamnesiac In reply to RebelLunarstone [2011-10-16 16:16:39 +0000 UTC]

I think cream cheese works much better than cottage as a replacement. And I know what you mean, what few stores carry Ricotta often charge quite a bit for it :/

RebelLunarstone In reply to BLUEamnesiac [2011-10-22 09:16:31 +0000 UTC]

I found out that Cream Cheese works better when my mom made her lasagna and the cottage cheese tasted terrible and ruined the entire dish. Everyone else knew it but she kept saying 'Mmm delicious isn't it?'

My folks brought lasagna over for supper a couple of Sundays ago and right off the bat I KNEW mom had made it as it was made with all 'organic' cheeses, meats and tomatoes none of those dangerous chemicals for mom's lasagna oh no. The noodles were organically grown, the eggs from free range chickens, the meat was organic, the cheeses were all local and organically grown. In all it tasted horrid! The noodles didn't stand a chance in a 450 oven for a half hour nothing looked all that terrific and it was a good thing I had made and froze a lasagna ahead of time and had it in the oven while mom was 'freshening up' in the washroom. For some reason she takes literally and honestly forty five minutes to freshen up and by the time she came out,the leaves of the table were put in the middle and the table cloth was on the table, supper was in the middle and the table was set. She sat down and crowed about how wonderful her 'organic' lasagna tasted. To this day she STILL doesn't know about the switch.

I don't care much for the organic foods when it comes to cheeses and meats. They never last as long and taste different. Herbs, fruits and veggies are best fit for using as organic.

Mom tried to bake home made biscuits with organic soy milk thinking that they'd taste better, unfortunately they came out like hockey pucks 100% inedible.

Soy milk is definitely not meant for baking or... or anything other than drinking of cereal.

We tried to tell her since my niece can't drink regular milk due to her being lactose intolerant but mom insisted that soya milk CAN be used for baking and pulled out a recipe from one of her friends that called for a different kind of soya milk but the name of the soya milk for baking had long been blotted out from frequent liquid droplets smearing the ink and instead of calling her friend Betty and getting her to fax over a new copy of the recipe she continued to use the same old recipe time and again each time getting more and more frustrated until the day Betty came over and caught her saying 'Millie? What the hell are you doing? I sent you a new copy of that recipe ages ago by fax! What did you do with it? You're supposed to use canned milk not milk from a cow or soya milk!' She went to the fax machine i n my dad's study and found the recipe then came back into the kitchen saying 'You're trying to make these biscuits and yet you don't even have the right ingredients! No WONDER your biscuits don't ever turn out right and you get frustrated!' That meant a shopping trip to Bulk Barns to get the correct ingredients for the biscuits that turned out much better then the previous versions.

My mother and sister are the same way in using ingredients that aren't fit for certain things. My sis tried using sweet n' low artificial sweetener in cookies once. And well, that didn't work out well at all.

Oh, I'm surprised anyone still uses a fax machine anymore. I kind of miss mine since I'm nostalgic about old tech.

The School I attended and graduated from doesn't hand out report cards or mid terms to students. Instead they either get emailed to their parents or faxed to where ever they work so no one ever knows how well or how bad they're doing. It's the same with tests, they get faxed to parents or emailed via attachment so only parents really know what our grades are and can chew them out about it. Of course chewing them out only comes with blank looks that clearly say 'WTF are you talking about? What ARE you chewing me out about this time? I haven't even gotten my test back yet so how can you know what my mark is?' Of course they walk around raving like lunatics waving a copy of a test paper in the air screaming about the wrong answers that were circled. That practice lasted one term and the other kids started getting report cards handed to them and test papers back in a few days so they know what their marks are instead of hearing their parents raving like lunatics.

BLUEamnesiac In reply to RebelLunarstone [2011-11-22 14:54:35 +0000 UTC]

That's actually a great idea, it'll keep kids from altering their report card. When I was in middle school, a friend of my used to do that and well, that didn't help him at all. And an interesting discovery! I went over the manual for one of my old multipurpose scanner/copier/printers and it has built-in fax capabilities. All of this time I never knew because the phone jack was covered by a sliding plastic plate.

RebelLunarstone In reply to BLUEamnesiac [2011-11-23 08:24:30 +0000 UTC]

The things we learn when we read the manuals! My dad nearly threw out one of his old printers because in his words 'there's something not right with that machine! I can't get it to do nothing right!' So he put it in a box for refurbishing and I dug it out, hooked it back up and said 'Now show me what you're bitching about!' he re-installed the software and showed me saying 'each time I turn it on it makes this weird sound and the top glows! I tell you it's a piece of crap!' I pushed the top half back and said 'It's not broken nor is it a piece of crap! It's a multipurpose machine! You have a printer on the bottom,a copier in the middle and a scanner on the top and on top of all this you also have a fax machine. There's nothing wrong with it! If you don't want this then I'll put it in MY Office and put it to good use along with your new desktop and laptop that you never use!' There's the story of how I got my first desktop and laptop. My dad was technologically impaired at the time and still is. The only thing he knows how to work is his cell phone which hasn't been updated since cell phones were modernized. It's so old that the phone bill on it is $1200.00! For Christmas last year I took his hunk of junk in and traded up for an iphone. He was furious because his old cell phone had important numbers programmed into it. I replied 'So does this one. I took all the phone numbers from your old junk heap and programmed them into your new phone even called a few to test the connection and speaker phone and everyone heard me clear as day. No more missed or dropped calls no more searching for a signal in the grocery store no more faded or lost signals! You can drive and speak hands free without ever taking your eyes off the road or pulling over to make a phone call! Just say the name of the person you want to call and the on board calling system will call that person.' He still hasn't forgiven me for upgrading his phone and bringing him into the 21st century and he still hasn't forgiven mom for trading in his piece of beige junk for a sleeker environmentally friendly car filled to the hilt with safety features.
