I was up until mine stopped working. At some point I need to get around to replacing the capacitors and maybe swapping the screen out for a better one.

D'awww. Β I want a Majesco GG too, but I hear it doesn't work with some games and accessories.

they say that they fixed most errors of the original GG (the capacitors thing for example), but has no attachment for the master gear (wich i think is harder to find) so, it may worth have one. Β  Β they made some cartridges too,Β

The only thing that the boy did better technically was last longer in battery life. Β I do find it interesting that their screens have the same resolution though.

Yep, in every way but battery life. Had they perfect that, it would have been the greatest handheld ever.

it was more like 16 bit graphics with 8 bit sound. the sound chip is ok, but not as advanced as the gameboy's

Nicely done I think that this console was very big and the batteries have a short life, but it had good games though. I have a miniature version of this, but is a recompilation of games from both Gamegear and Master System, and is made by AtGames [link]

BLUEamnesiac In reply to RobloSamus [2012-07-11 23:30:37 +0000 UTC]

Ah, I felt he Nomad was better, but both were serious battery hogs since they're just scaled down variants of SEGA's consoles.

Power Rangers was one of the games I wanted to try but never got around to. But I have played variants of them on other systems, the Genesis version and SNES fighting game were my favorites.

Krogothh [2012-07-09 21:31:12 +0000 UTC]

SEGA knew how to do it:
- Background light
- Colours
- When I remember right, 3D like effects in some games.
- And a huge hunger for batteries.

Epic!

But we had Sega systems at home only for a short time.
After the release of the Snes, Nintendo was again the dominating power in our living room.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

BLUEamnesiac In reply to Krogothh [2012-07-11 23:32:01 +0000 UTC]

They certainly did.
My brothers and I were deeply divided during the 16-bit war. So we were lucky enough to have the Genesis and SNES. During that time, it was nothing but a win/win situation regardless of which you owned. I miss those days so much.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

BLUEamnesiac In reply to DannyOfX [2012-07-09 20:56:08 +0000 UTC]

The Game Gear is a fairly powerful system for its time and is essentially a portable version of the Master System. If you have an AC adapter or battery pack, it's worth getting. There was even an official attachment, the Master Gear Converter, that would allow you to play Master System games on it.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

DannyOfX In reply to BLUEamnesiac [2012-07-09 21:00:08 +0000 UTC]

Wow! I never knew that. Thanks for telling me your thought. I've only saw a few Game Gear game reviews. They say its unreviewable b/c of its glare on the camra, but now theres a cable to review their games in clear vision.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

BLUEamnesiac In reply to DannyOfX [2012-07-09 21:09:00 +0000 UTC]

You're welcome and there is indeed a bit of glare if you're recording it with a camera. However, there are hardware mods that can get a video signal to output with an composite cable.

I think Mike said something about that on his review on Game Gear game when he had a friend built on for him. Its on cinemassacre.com you heard of it?

BLUEamnesiac In reply to DannyOfX [2012-07-09 21:23:47 +0000 UTC]
