Y'know how if you pick up a cat by the armpits they get like super long? That’s good stuff.

Long time no species shuffle AU! I missed catbug Vivi and I don’t think I’ve ever drawn cyborg Rayner before.

I feel like in my past two drawings there was an unintentional and abrupt improvement in how I draw hair... No idea where it came from or how, but ok. Thanks, self...?

Anyways, random lore stuff time.
I still don’t know what to call Vivi’s species, so I’ve just been calling her a catbug, haha. Feline-ish with 6 limbs.
Rayner’s human, but not a naturally born human. I’m yanking the term ‘vat-grown’ from RimWorld because that’s the best term I can find, haha. It’s where humans (or parts of humans) are grown in vats from genetic material. Then he got a ton of augments and bionics afterwards. All not voluntary, because war makes some governments do horrible, inhumane things. 🙃 He deserted when he saw an opportunity.
It’s kinda a toss-up whether canon Rayner or Species Shuffle Rayner got the worst trauma, but I think Shuffle Rayner wins by a smidge. It’s for character development, my son, I promise.

Edit: I don't know why my OC Viviana gets favorites from so many accounts full of fe//tish art, but please desist. My OCs are very dear to me and Vivi's a minor, so it squicks me out. I'm not ki//nk-shaming, just setting boundaries
