Full Body Ref
BASICALLY....
Name: Mirage K. Dontae
Alias: "Father Time" | Mirry | Mir
Age: 29
Birthday: December 18th
Gender: Male | ♂
Species: Hybrid ["Timekeeper" + Nymph]
In mythology, Nymphs are often described as beautiful female water spirits, with their male counterparts being called satyrs. Due to the hybridity of his blood with a species called a "Timekeeper" -- that is, essentially, a magically-inclined and unnaturally birthed human with the power to manipulate time running within their veins -- Mirage resembles more of a nymph than a satyr, and identifies as such. His nymph bloodline is attributed mainly to fresh water, particularly that of a lakebed found in the midst of a forest forever hued in autumnal colors, which may or may not have been dragged to the realm of Yggdrasil's creation with him. However, Mirage is unfortunately cursed because of his hybridity and his mother's bloodline, which is described in trivia further below.

Mystic Item/Weapon: Alchemist's Philter
Rank: D
Blessing:
Silence: Disables all magic skills from an enemy.
Limit Break: Mix
By combining any of his potions, ingredients, etc that he has on his person or nearby, Mirage is able to create a concoction within the Philter to suit his immediate needs. It doesn't matter what he puts into the Philter itself to create what it necessary -- it takes, and thus it gives. At the moment, it can only be used sparingly, until its rank is higher.
IDENTITY
Personality:
+ Friendly | Easily pleased | Patient | Supportive +
In spite of a lot of things Mirage has gone through, he's by default a very friendly person, offering a kind smile and a helping hand to any who seem to need it. This makes him also a supportive character, the easiest to go to in case one needs some words of encouragement or a pep talk to get through the day. Whatever you pursue in life, Mirage will support, as long as it isn't something illegal, of course. Watching his friends work toward achieving those goals and attaining that sweet victory makes him happy, no matter how small that goal may be, which leads into him being most of the time easily pleased at the simplest of things. However even when it comes to the harder things to work for, he is infallibly patient, and will be by someone's side until the bitter, bitter end.
= Reserved | Private | Gullible =
Perhaps because of his inability to turn away those in need, Mirage can be taken advantage of by those who are good at acting or cunning enough. He's proven gullible more times than not, and it's made him very spiteful toward the phrase "hindsight's always 20/20." Mirage isn't the type to talk about himself or the people around him, either, all things considered -- he is a private person, for better or for worse, but at least that means you can trust him with your secrets! He won't tell a soul. Last, the man is reserved in that he reveals only very muted or watered down expressions of emotion toward others. Too often has his heart been shredded when worn on his sleeve that he's finally learned a lesson about conducting himself to avoid that.
- Sassy | Anxious | Distant | Strict -
At times, Mirage's reserved nature can devolve into being quietly distant from people. He doesn't like to outright say when he dislikes someone, but if he's fully stifling all types of emotions or actions around someone, it's for good reason. One of the few full-weighted traits he otherwise displays, however, is that he's surprisingly sassy even if first impressions would lead someone to believing otherwise, and isn't afraid to tease or drop sarcastic remarks when something's getting too heavy to handle. Mirage is also rules-oriented, strict about these things more with himself than with others, which feeds into how anxious he is, even if he's good at hiding it. This might also be due to remnants of ptsd from most of his life, but really, only those who look closely at him will notice the signs, as long as he keeps the attacks at bay.

Trivia:
Mirage is cursed, borne from his mother's bloodline. His heart does not beat and his blood is thick and stagnated in his veins -- he is mostly powered on aether alone. Because of his curse, he is immortal to a degree -- the only surefire way to kill him 100% is to rip out his heart which is crystalline in nature and the hub of all of his aether make up.
His eyes resemble hand-cut, multi-faceted gemstones of aquamarine. Constantly, they glow.
He has some wild strength that lends credence to his wide knowledge of various combat techniques. This was inherited from his mother. Mirage has spent much of his life learning many types of combat, so that he doesn't have to rely on magic if caught in a scuffle.
Has a ridiculously high tolerance to drinking, which is fascinating when thinking about his curse's effect on his system.
He hates museums, as they normally overglorify history or get it completely wrong.
Prefers manipulation of time over seeing into the future/past, etc.
Not the biggest fan of faefolk.

BACKSTORY
[TW: Varying levels of abuse involved]
Mirage was raised by a mother with a screw or two loose in her head, forced into separation from his father by a certain angel with a vendetta . Cursed in her past for her vanity of her beauty, the woman performed strange and wicked experiments on any helpless passerby that got lost in the autumnal woods that she and Mirage called their own. From a young age, Mirage already saw horrors of a world and bore the scars -- more than once she took it upon herself to try and drown the boy in the bath, and every so often, Mirage would walk in on her trying to drown herself. Really, turning seventeen and being stricken with the curse from her bloodline was a blessing, even if he wouldn't view it at such for a long time; it allowed for Mirage to flee from his mother and seek out his father.
Turns out his father, at the time (heh), was teaching at a school of Dark Arts and Magic. Seeking to learn manipulation of time under him, Mirage enrolled at the school. The nightmares from childhood seemed to be but a blip in his past, memories long forgotten, until the worse nightmares began. Torture at the level of his soul, abuse from people he thought he loved, murder, mayhem, it was all a maelstrom of chaos and destruction that one should expect from a school like this! Yet it affected Mirage deeply, in ways so bad that he dropped out of school and ran off with his then-lover... it didn't go so well, and after a particularly nasty fight between them, they went their separate ways.
When age twenty-five rolled around, Mirage's father recommended him to take over as a teacher at another magic school, this one far more pleasant than the last. Though Mirage was by this point a potionsmaster thanks to his education at the first school and wandering for years basically peddling potions on the street, he took over as the Combat Teacher for the school, incorporating what he had learned over time (heh) to teach his students, both with and without magic. The start of his time at the school was a bit rocky, since "living nightmares" attacked and made him relive some of the worst tortures of before, but he managed to pull through just fine. There are other blemishes that occurred toward the end of his time at that school, however, that pushed him to eventually leave it as a graveyard of memories -- breaking various laws, being killed, abandonment, and a general lack of attachment to the place anymore.
He was twenty-seven when he left, bound for some astral village where his father had taken up residence, needing his potion knowledge to help tend to poison that was running through his veins. Along the way, Mirage met up with an AtoTerran stranded there by the name of Tartarus Locklear , and they began to travel together. For the first time in a long time, Mirage had made another friend that he thought might not up and leave him, or anything like that -- only to be savagely betrayed when he awoke one morning and Tartarus was gone, whisked away.
Luckily, or perhaps unluckily, for him, it would be but a few short months before he found himself whisked away, too.
SKILLS
STANDARD MAGE
Strengths:
Combat Tactician: Mirage has spent much of his life learning as many types of combat available, starting with martial arts when young and progressing upward. There is rarely a combat style he does not know, and because of his knowledge, he is very versatile in a fight.
Packs a Mean Punch... or Kick: Though he doesn't look it at all, he has a mean strength he can put behind his blows, albeit not without some drawback.
No Beat? No Problem: Because his heart does not beat, Mirage doesn't suffer from things like fatigue or windedness or the like that comes from a heart overexerting itself. This doesn't, by any means, say he has limitless energy. Far from it.
Encyclopedic Knowledge: Might just be cause of his time magic, but Mirage knows a lot about history of more than a few worlds. Also knows most uses of plants, gems, bugs, animal parts, etc for potions of varying degrees and properties. Probably doesn't apply much here, but he can play a mean guessing game!
Weaknesses:
Danger, Highly Flammable: Mirage's biggest weakness is the opposing element by standards of his specific magic. This means those who wield the temperamental magic of fire.
"I cannot swim!": Although Mirage's secondary element is water, due to nearly drowning multiple times as a kid, he suffers a crippling fear of immersion in water and thus cannot even manipulate that which he is most in tune with. Sad!
Healthy? What's That: Mirage's immune system is basically nonexistent. While no regular illness will kill him, it certainly will make him suffer the entire time he's sick. Sometimes those rosy cheeks of his aren't rosy from laughter.
Anxious Bean: He takes self-prescribed potions to curb this due to some major PTSD from his past, if he goes without them, he's basically a shaking ball of useless. He's trying to wean off them, though.
Abilities: [bold abilities are unlocked]
Time Manipulation -- Rewind - Can rewind time backwards up to a full day. Cannot stack this ability, cannot use on people with fire element, cannot be used on Mystics, cannot be used in Trials. Mostly used to help with chores like clean up spills and things like that, as rewinding more than a few minutes is incredible draining.
Time Manipulation -- Freeze - Can freeze time in a small AOE (about 5 foot radius around Mirage's immediate casting area) that can last for a few hours at most. In terms of a dice roll, it would be rolling 1d5 for amount of hours if successful, and in a Trial it would be for amount of "turns" it can last. This affects everyone in the AOE, except Mirage, or those with a fire element. Sorry, friends!
Time Manipulation -- Fast Forward - Can speed up time from a rewind or a freeze, to catch up to immediate present. Same limiters apply as with Rewind. Unknown how to unlock.
Scrying -- Past - Can "look into the past" of objects upon coming in contact with said object with bare skin. This can apply to people as well, but it seems hit or miss in this new place (roll 1d20 to determine, anything above 17 would result in seeing some past of a person, and also only if permission is given by the other player!). Yay learning about antiques and relics!
Scrying -- Future - Can "look into the future" of objects/people unfamiliar to Mirage, and only up to a day at most. Cannot see the future of places, definitely not of this new realm, or the Mystics.
Teleportation - Can teleport through previously visited areas unlocked in story progression from the time of arriving as a Player. This makes for quick commute between Districts, after visiting everywhere on foot! Only accessible after completing two trials and visiting all Districts in various posted RPs. [Will keep track of in a separate document, but would love the mods to double check!]
Water Manipulation - Manipulation of fresh water for offensive or defensive or even scrying purposes. Forever locked. Damn phobias.
