I've met this guy before. But that was before I found out he had his start in Surf Club. Such a coincidence, haha! Love this guy's introductionΒ

Aye, he started right here. Thanks a lot.

I'd be hangin' out with with guy AND Squawks as well in a split second. Love the bird's flair for clowning around and the croc's determination to fit in with the rest of the beach folks even though they're not too keen on having him as a lifeguard.Β

Tsk, people are so prejudiced against crocodilians.

Nice, very nice. Love how much action you've packed into these "Sunday" Strips, and the new guy looks nicely designed, too

Ta very much, really don't make these larger strips often enough...they're just so time-consuming, that's all. Glad you approve of Chuck!

I like this longer format! it's a nice change of pace, sir Mark

Thanks a lot! Don't do these too often, simply because they're so time-consuming, something you can relate to I'm sure!

AgentC-24 [2011-08-21 01:48:08 +0000 UTC]

Oooh, one of your most dynamic one-pagers so far! Not sure who the new lifeguard is, but it's a fun and funny gag! Well done!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

BluebottleFlyer In reply to AgentC-24 [2011-08-21 09:07:55 +0000 UTC]

Thanks very much! Really need to do more of these full page strips, if only they weren't so time-consuming.
You'll be seeing more of the lifeguard, that's for sure! Glad you dig this.

Ah, so you are using this new character! Cool, I see there's potential with this!

Poor guy, especially after what he did, Clearly there are biases within the beach were still need to be resolved.

It was too much of a gag to ignore, I guess. Thanks a lot!

Aaaahahah! Great joke! ...aaand new characters!
Really nice work on the expressions and the lady's running pose and terrified face made the comic even funnier.

Nice longer edition! And misunderstood dangerous animals is always a fave of mine - Oh and 'gators have shorter wider snouts, crocs have narrower longer ones. And something to do with their teeth structure is different too, but I forget what it is.

BluebottleFlyer In reply to Granitoons [2011-08-20 23:05:05 +0000 UTC]

Thanks much! Aye, they're always fun to work with, and I'm guessing that would make my lifeguard a gator, his snout seems to be the short sort.

What a great introduction for this character! With a funny potential for recurring jokes too! I like how this strip had more action taking place than your typical surf club strip. Great job!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

BluebottleFlyer In reply to Kurui [2011-08-20 09:13:46 +0000 UTC]

With this being a character intro strip, it had to be more than 3 panels, heh. I have plenty planned for this croc, glad you enjoyed this.

LOL!!!!! This is a longer comic for you, and I absolutely love it! I don't think the new lifeguard is going to have an easy time though when rescuing others, lol XD

Lol, had fun reading all 8 panels, that and seeing the unexpected new characters! At least the fox made it back to shore, how...whether she accepted his help or got the adrenaline and swam on her own...I don't know...

BluebottleFlyer In reply to DTKinetic [2011-08-19 08:31:20 +0000 UTC]

This looks like it could be a Sunday edition of The Surf Club! Great job. I'm not sure if this lifeguard's presence is going to make most people feel safer...

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

BluebottleFlyer In reply to BruBadger [2011-08-19 08:39:35 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I highly doubt he will.
Thanks much! I don't make these bigger comic pages too often, but this little story wouldn't have been anywhere near as effective with just 3 panels.

RagingOceans [2011-08-18 23:18:27 +0000 UTC]

Wow... you'd think in a place with foxes, turtles, polar bears, crabs, you'd think this would be the last place for stereotypes like 'oh $#!%, it's a croc, he's gonna nom on my face!'.

4EverGreen [2011-08-18 22:49:37 +0000 UTC]

Is that a crocodile or an alligator? It's always perplexing for me to tell the difference. In any case, this ought to make for some interesting story scenarios. If a random fox lady was THAT scared of him, chances are Tabby isn't going to take to this newcomer much better! Enough said!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

BluebottleFlyer In reply to 4EverGreen [2011-08-18 22:53:54 +0000 UTC]

He's supposed to be a crocodile, but I've probably drawn him with gator features for all I know. And yeah, he'll make for some interesting future comics, heh heh...thanks much.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

4EverGreen In reply to BluebottleFlyer [2011-08-22 17:35:39 +0000 UTC]

Well, the way to tell them apart is that there is a slight difference in their long noses and back scale patterns. But don't worry, every artist I know of gets the two species mixed up all the time to! I can't wait to see again, and you're welcome for the comment. Enough said!
