Description DREAM KNOCKOUT 2

Even though I only just finished the first game, I'm already working on the second one.
This is one of the first concept arts I made for the game, which I'll probably end up using in the 'opponent select' screen.

I'm not sure when this game will come out or even If it's going to come out. It all depends on how well the first Dream Knockout is going to sell.

alright i got the first one and i love it absolute fun. i let my brothers try it and they wanna know when the next one is coming out any estimate on that so i can tell them when they can pay me for the next one

Thanks for buying the first game!! I don't know when the second game will be released. I'm currently in the middle of a move to my old appartment, I juat started working at a new company, I'm really busy dating new people and to top it off, my last bit of free time is spent on shooting for a television show I'm on >_<
I really wish I had more time but eventually, I'll get back to programming

actually I prefer that the person you are controlling is not stated, this way you can fantasize about the girls pounding either sex. The girls for the second one look good, I can't wait to see more.

you should put a "choose your gender" before the fight starts... so you can add "extra" unfair moves specified for the 2 gender

It would be cool if the fight is longer and maybe, after defeat, continue a long and painfull torture.
Oh, and i remember that you time ago have thought about to add a referee... will you add this thing? it would be awesome if is a girl and help your opponents in their "little domination playing" X3

last question: you think to use the 1vs1 or add the 1vs2?

It looks entertaining and fun and no doubt the this promo shot does make one curious and eager to see what is coming next. No doubt it wikll have to kick it up a notch to be a well acheiving sequel . We all shall keep our eyes peeled keep up the great work.

A lot can be learned from experience, its the best teacher. No doubt you gained some good knowledge and feedback from your first, which you can attribute to the process in making the second. From what I see so far, you got a lovely pair for us all to see that will be the highlight characters. And with some time and effort, without rushing things, and Im sure you'll do just fine. We all look forward to seeing how it turns out.

No no, you will control your 'player' character which represents you and you get to choose which of the two girls you fight.
It's a point of view boxing game, you vs the girls.

No, I'm sorry. Making them fight in a third person perspective calls for an almost entirely new game so that's a lot of work for one game modus. But maybe I'll make an auto-fight option for the player. Although I'm not sure if I'll do this since making a decent AI is pretty tricky. It took me long enough to do it for the girl you fight in the first game.

Are you talking about Dream Knockout or Dream Knockout2?
The first one only has one character, the red gloved girl. And the player's character of course, which isn't gender specific. The diversity isn't in the quantity of girls but in the illegal humiliation moves she uses.

The second one will feature two girls which you can fight and the character controlled by the player.

As with the previous game, the gender won't be specified. I'll make sure every snappy comment the girls make is for two genders.
Maybe I'll make an option to choose and have a few remarks be gender specific although that's something to think about when the game is nearing completion.

The current game only features a left jab for quick moves with great accuracy and right straights for damage dealing slugs.
The next game will have at least one more punch. Definitely a stomach punch.

And I'll incorporate another difficulty select screen so you can ask the girls to go easy on you.

Well actually I got the game already and played it.

It is quite well done, but there are quite a number of problems.

Now it might seem rude and offensive as such I'm holding back on them.

But if you want to hear it then I'll try to make it as easy as possible.

If you have a some problems with the game, I'd like to know. Even though it's never fun when someone criticizes your loving work, it could help improve Dream Knockout 2.

Well here are the points...

1) The girl remains in the same position all the time, we can't even tell when is a good time to throw a punch since she's pretty much just rotating in one spot.

2)The controls isn't instant, and there's a lack of timing between each actions, particually the guarding it makes it slow, the moment u drop it you can't guard again for a few seconds.

3)I understand using stamina is needed for actions, but you shouldn't lose stamina just on being hit.

4) The reason why you shouldn't lose stamina is mainly this issue. the attacks the girl tosses are instant, even in all the other boxing games, there's always actions to show that their going to attack.

5)We could really use a health bar for the opponent, its hard to plan between swift and hard attacks for it.

These are the main problems, although the part on being hit reduces stamina is the biggest one.

Thanks for taking the time to give such detailed feedback.
Let me tackle it one thing at a time.

1) It's true she doesn't move a lot but her movement isn't connected with the punches hitting her. It's a chance generator. Your left has about 90% of hitting and your right about 70%. I'm saying this out of the top of my head so it may not be an accurate estimation. And by the way, your accuracy goes down when your under about 50% stamina and when you've used a lot of lefts or a lot of rights in a row, they become less efficient. For instance, when using too many rights, she'll catch it and go in headlock mode.
Still, you're right. I can understand if you don't like the fact she doesn't move a lot.

2) This actually improves the gameplay. The earlier beta version had instant blocking. Press spacebar or up and you'd block. This, however, made the game way too easy when people just tapped the block button. That hardly reduced stamina and blocked almost all attacks. So I had to make a delay in the blocking to up the challenge a bit.

3) This part, the part where you lose stamina on being hit, is where I disagree with you. I really like this part. This way, if she's dominating you, she can turn the player into a punching bag for her own enjoyment. And when that happens, it triggers certain speech balloons. So in my eyes, this is just a matter of preference.

4) About the punches being instant, I totally see your point. I did this so the player has to anticipate the punches rather than react in time to block them. I actually liked anticipating them but for the next game, I'll experiment with little actions to show an attack is coming.
There is one action that shows a big attack is coming. When she goes into rage mode, when she throws like a million lefts and right, she goes for a split second in a different pose to let the player be able to block it.

5) A health bar for the opponent will never happen, I'm sorry. That's something I really dislike about most games, being able to see your opponents health. BUT, you're right when you say you need some kind of feedback about her health.
At the moment, the feedback consists about the time she stays down. The longer she stays down, the more hurt she is and the more chance you'll have to knock her out when she goes down again.

I'm sorry to say the most problems you had with the game were all intentional but I'll take some things into account when programming the second game;
- Maybe more movement
- Something to anticipate attacks better
- More feedback on the girl's health

the girls will not be playable, you will always be your own character fighting them.
I haven't named them. Not too sure if I will name them.

I'm a little bit afraid that names will get in the way of some people's fantasy but for the girls to be able to talk to each other in-game I'll probably need some names.

I was thinking about Western names but less used ones so there's a smaller chance any negative feelings are attached to them for the players.
Like Summer, Valentina, Diamond... (reading from the baby-girls' name book, section; 'uncommon names' )

Aaaaand Im gunna but my nose in and say I agree with Bowser, sometimes you dont need a name at all. Look at what youve just done, Youve given them 4 names, and thats what you want them to be called, and as such named your "fantasy" as such
And I just relaised im posting this on the wrong reply, but who cares lol.

My suggestion would be to keep them unnamed, but for the point of upcoming poll fights that I will be doing with these girls (as well as the first girl) I suggest just giving them a simple name for the purpose of making things a smidge easier for me when I do the poll. May I possibly suggest though? Angel and Vermillia?

I do rather like the name Vermillia for the redhead, Just from the pic I can see her being fiery, Both in the ring and in personality.
Im working on the Katie vs Mandy pic as we speak, Hopefully have it up by either the end of the night, or sometime tommorow. I wanna try to get an organized structure going for the group though, Hopefully that will mean having a new fight every Monday, while I work on the results from the last pic.
I'm thinking for the next fight, The red bikini girl from your original game vs Deadpools Elizabeth, you keen?

Vermillia isn't a bad name now I think about it. Maybe Summer and Vermillia for the blonde and redhead respectively.

I don't know who Deadpools Elizabeth is, even after googling (marvel is such a clusterfuck ), but I'd think it would be fun to see my girl drawn in action by another artist regardless of the opponent. If you'd like a name for her as well to ease the poll option, I'd call her Violet, you know, because of her violet hair.

And I really like your schedule for the group. Sounds like things'll be booming in no time
