This is my original character Ash Monroe. (It's a WIP, I'll post it again when it's finished though)

Your art style is the culmination of the art you see in the world and are inspired by, filtered through the lens of yourself, so that it becomes uniquely yours. This character developed from a novel I spent the last year writing, and turned into someone I never could have anticipated meeting and now love so dearly.

Ash is so much of myself and so much something else I don't even fully understand. He's much smarter than me, his wit is sharper, and he's not naturally all that kind. He's a little difficult to like because of these things. Also he's very good at math, which I am miserable at.

But he's also loyal to a fault, picks up new skills with ease, and his love of books, obscure bands and sarcasm all mirror my own traits. His disinterest in relationships in general and dislike of being touched by others are traits I can relate to as well.

I've drawn him so so so many times over the last year, but today when I sketched him I had that omg, that's actually him moment where what he looks like in my head finally was exactly what was reflected back to me on paper.

So meet Ash Monroe. He's eighteen and just got accepted to an ivy league school. He's part of a pair of twins. He's a drummer and a mathlete, and he could've been class president, but he doesn't work all that well with others, so he didn't try for it.

Maybe someday I'll share my novel, but I likely won't. Maybe I'll turn it into a webcomic and you'll get to see Ash over and over again, who knows. For now I hope you enjoy this sketch.❤️
