Thank you so much! Neo is so special to me, he's one of my favourites.
I did notice that after having a browse around - I was like "aw damn, I totally could have entered". I'm not super active on DeviantART, neither am I really active in the Sonic fandom, so it was a total bummer I missed out :< but ah well.

You're so welcome! This is pretty cool! I like Neo Metal too, he's got a really cool design! I wish Heroes had a boss fight with him in this form before he turns into a mega robot dragon thingy. XDDDD
Oh, trust me, I understand. A lot of people I asked missed it because they aren't as active as I thought they were. But not to worry, it's an annual thing. Every October, I post a journal about who we're drawing, what the rewards are, and the end date. So if you're around in October or November (I extended it because I wanted people to have enough time XDDDD), then feel free to look me up and see who we're drawing!

This looks really good! I love the pose and the red light/storm. It makes it look very dramatic!

No problem! And I noticed, it looks SO cool! I've always struggled with imitating another artist(s) style so its really awesome when I see someones art and it looks like it could be from the source material! I love it aaa :>

Thank you! I was really tricky to get the hang of. What I ended up going was trying to really analyze the official artwork. I printed off a few examples and drew guide lines over the characters then tried top copy exactly what was happening in the picture. Then I repeated the process without the official example until I felt I understood what was happen. Here is an example of my latest attempt: Classic Sonic and Metal Sonic Studies - Part 3
I try to think of artwork as a series of small problems. You have to solve each smaller problem to get the larger piece to look right. So when I studied the official artwork, I tried to identify all the small problems the artist faced and then I tried to understand why they solved them the way they did. I hope that makes sense. ^^
