Description “Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see.”

Parents: Fluttershy and Discord

Species: Pegasus/Draconequus hybrid/Female

Build: Petite, Sleek, Lanky

Special Talent: Magic, Animal Care

Occupation: Assistant Veterinarian

Nicknames: Sweety, Sweets, Ray, Dissy

Born/Residing In: Ponyville

Personality/Background: Warm, gentle and compassionate, Sweet Disarray takes after her mother in a lot of ways-which makes a lot of sense since she is her assistant at the vet clinic they work at. However, when she is outside of the comfort of her home, the hybrid takes on the form of a pegasus to both keep herself in check and hide her insecurities of feeling out of place and like a monster. She desperately strives to be a good citizen in society and in the eyes of others, so if disguising herself is the way to do it, then so be it. Underneath the shell lies a draconequus who just wants to be accepted, but is so worried about stereotypes that she’d rather shelter her identity to feel safe.

Relationships:
Mama Flutters and Ray share a close bond, doing almost everything together as soon as she could talk. Knitting, little tea parties, singing with the birds that landed on the windowsills-it was like living out of a fairytale. But as she got older, her powers grew as well-a few magical outbursts frightening her to not fully embrace her chaotic side and keep it under lock and key. Daddy Discord tries his best to convince her that chaos isn’t all havoc and destruction, and with enough practice she can outshine anyone who stands in her way if she wants to. Always wary, she’s attempted, but just can’t bring herself to do anything too extravagant that might put others in harm’s way.

When Princess Celestia assigned the hybrid to be her eldest son’s personal sight-seer whenever she was in Canterlot, Disarray was rather confused. No disrespect to the Princess, but...why her? The blind prince had plenty of maids and servants tending solely to him, so why not pick one of them to do the job? Upon their first few meetings, she soon figures it out. Solstice is...different. Not in a bad way, but to the point where having a regular servant accompanying him would just be...cumbersome. He often needs to be coaxed out of his shell, slowly and carefully-and Ray thankfully has the patience to do that. When their initial walls come down, she finds a good friend in the prince-and possibly more, but she’s yet to really think about it.

While she clicks well with friends Bleu Ivory, Breezy Showers and Marshiano Cherry, Ray can’t help but feel some sort of borderline resentment towards Princess Shimmer Dust-who conveniently is also their friend. This may be due in part to their parents’ conflicting personalities- as Twilight is more geared towards order and harmony, and Discord...isn’t. Still, Disarray doesn’t hate the sparkly winged princess-she just finds that they end up butting heads more often than not.

Special: Sweet Disarray can channel her magic both through her paws and her antlers, but prefers using her antlers. Since she has to use magic to keep her pony form up, she limits herself to only free floating and levitating objects in her true form as to not drain herself too quickly.

While she can’t talk to animals directly, Ray is able to open a mental communication link with them-somewhat similar to telepathy. It is especially helpful when working in the vet clinic alongside her mother, as they get so many patients streaming in on a daily basis that being able to figure out what’s wrong quickly is essential. She also inherited Mama Flutters infamous “stare” to get through to those that are a bit more stubborn in telling her the issue they’re having...looking at you, Opalescence.

Disarray’s “Discorded” eye, as she calls it, can change colors based on what she’s feeling. It turns more red when she’s angry, more green when happy or excited, and more blue when she’s sad or upset. Though it doesn’t carry over to her pony form, she can still feel its effects though slight twitching in her eyelids.

Fun Facts:
Sweet Disarray is very fond of young creatures-both animal and pony. In her youth, she used to be the designated babysitter for little North Star, Princess Incandescent and Smoke and Mirrors- as their parents would sometimes go on dinner dates together, and having three loud and rambunctious children tagging along would surely sour the supposed to be peaceful night. Ray was a little worried the first time the small colts and filly were plopped into her paws-with her permission, of course- but soon became smitten with them, reading stories to them, playing games...it was like she had found the little siblings she never had. In the present, they all are still very close and try to meet up with “big sis” whenever they can.

Ray, like many curious souls before her, loves to discover things, be it how certain machines work or how to cast different spells- or new information in general. Her muzzle is almost always in a book, and she especially enjoys linguistics. Learning about different languages fascinates her immensely, and when the time comes to accompany Solstice in visiting other kingdoms, she has quite the diverse vocabulary under her belt. Not that she knows if she’d be saying everything correctly, but it’s there nonetheless.

Alongside reading, Sweet Disarray also likes to write, poetry to be more specific. She is very keen with the quill and ink, and loves to create the most dramatic pieces, dripping with imagery and suspense. Though she doesn't plan on making any books anytime soon, she does read her latest pieces to Solstice, who enjoys hearing them. Though he may like hearing her enthralled voice more than the piece itself.

Yikes, I felt the terror from here...but looking at it, yes, they do look a bit like hands from a distance. At least I have something new to make studies on, so thanks for that I guess!
