One of several ideas an' me have been chatting about on the side.I'm surprised that an Appmon version of Meikuumon was never made, so I took it upon myself to fix that!
I kept the overall idea of the original design, but Applified it, with her feelers now App Link cables, and her X eyes as Locks instead.
Instead of a Virus as she more or less is in tri., Meikuumon's an Encryption App in Appli Monsters, each claw representing a different key to securing a particular piece of data. However, while she IS good at password protection, she's forgetful as to what key does what, so it takes her a while to properly unlock something.
She can AppFuse with Viramon to become Meicrackmon as a more direct reference to her Infection, though this Meicrackmon isn't Viscious like her tri. counterpart.
Anyway, Barmy an' me were toying with an idea where Meiko has a much younger App Zone Alternate who becomes tied up with the Zoners and Applidrivers due to a mysterious Viral AI trying to capture her and Meikuumon. They hold a special code that the Viral AI desires, but Meikuumon can't access the code, as she can't remember which key unlocks it... Nevertheless Dan, Haru and co take it upon themselves to protect Meiko and puzzle out this new AI's plan.

Thanks~! Fundamentally Meiko and Meikuumon would be the same colors they've always been. Meicrackmon would have some of Virusmon's coloring though.

That'd be dope to see, I love the design of meikuumon but I feel like she's somewhat out of place in the whole cast of characters, like idk I felt like some of the movies kinda pushed too much focus on her and Mei instead of the original cast which I guess is understandable since we've already seen basically everything done with these characters so adding a new character makes sense but that kinda just makes it feel like the digs destined are kinda just tagging along, what do you think of the movies so far?

I believe Meikuumon is an example of modern design sensibilities clashing with the older 90's designs. You don't notice it as much past series like Xros Wars, since obviously they have to advertise the newer Digimon and any older Digimon are cannon fodder or off and on allies, but it's hard to ignore in tri. when the only outright new Digimon is Meikuumon.
She's not a bad design at all, but it isn't quite capturing that old edgy style that Agumon and the others have, and so she stands out as an awkward attempt at doing so.
As for the movies themselves, I've had reservations about tri. since it was announced. A lot of attempts at reboots and continuations have been... dubious at best, so while I don't have an immense attachment to the Adventure cast, I've been afraid of revisiting them again, especially after their growth has largely been dealt with, in risk of their character arcs being undone or pushed in a bad direction.
And sure enough, they try trudging up older conflicts like Matt and Tai's rivalry, which is honestly a bit boring (and done for fan service given Mimi's reactions in the first film. She clearly ships them).
Any new story potential is quickly squandered and forgotten or revisited poorly such as Tai's cowardice and Daigo and Maki's past as DigiDestined.
The later is particularly weird to me, as I don't think we ever needed to KNOW who the original kids were (and it seems going by flashbacks and secondhand lore that they kinda sucked at their jobs), and while it's the backbone for Maki's .... "arc", Daigo is utterly pointless. He just sorta exists at the moment, pending what the final film does.
Maki I think had the most potential for an interesting story, and she did to an extent, but it felt sorta rushed. Not to mention, I feel in someways her story looses a certain impact without the DigiDestined and Daigo to observe her descent into madness and go "Wow, we really don't want that to happen to us." I suppose that's not important, but it feels like Maki's story needed a different direction.
Similarly Meiko's story seems to be going in circles, padding out the run time to extend a story that wasn't meant to last six movies.
To me, the Meikuumon plot should've ended with the reboot, with Kylo Ken (my nickname for Evil Gennai/Not-Ken) having harvested the virus from Meikuumon when he kidnapped her briefly in Movie 2 to do with as he pleased. Perhaps even creating a new Digimon out of it to continue his plan.

You know what I would've liked? Maybe either a reimagining of the adventure series or possibly just something that was more focused on maki and daigo, I think the with maki and daigo there could've been a lot of potential for an interesting backstory and maybe give some life to the franchise again by not rehashing something but rather expanding its previous mythos, the remake of adventure though is something I personally want to see as I do love the original English dub and it's cast I'm not gonna lie in a lot of places it was pretty bad, what I would like is a remake so that we can have an excuse for a proper English dub done right

I think a film series that sorta explores clinging to a moment you’ll never truly get back might’ve been interesting.
It’s certainly there with Maki clinging to Tapirmon, and going through hell or high water to revive ‘em.
I suppose a flaw there is that it retreads some of Oikawa’s plot, especially in the strong possibility that Kylo Ken would be manipulating her to get what he wants like Myotismon did.
Still with the awkward theme of growing up present, it still would’ve worked.
A reboot of Adventure in the modern era might be an interesting direction for a successor to Appmon. Tai and the others with their own devices, the risks Digimon (viruses/AI) have on us and our technology. Also the idea that our phones are sort of our own unique Digital Worlds we can have adventures in. Some embracing it more than others like Izzy.
Honestly that feels ripe for the picking for Digimon in general.

plus it'd be cool to see a bit of a modern take on the original digimon as with my previous complaint I don't mind some things theatre over detailed unless there's kind of a middle ground like with someone like gabumon or gatomon as they're both characters who's designs are initially unique and stand out but still work within the context of the group.
maybe if they did something like data squad where they kinda change up the designs of the originals but still stick to the routes I think that'd be pretty sweet, also there's a few things I'd like to change within the series.
1. Give DNA digivolutions to the other main digidestined as i feel that tai and Matt aren't the only characters that have a complex bond as izzy and mimi as much as polar opposites they are still work really nicely together, same with tk and kari
2. They can keep the secondary digidestined if they like but I'd like to see them more in the original season so we can get somewhat used to them and not just feel like they pulled a fairly odd parents on us and just make younger versions of the main cast.
3. Explore the idea of digimetals more, I'd like to what would it be like if some of the other characters expirenced the other crests like Joe being courageous or tai being intelligent etc
4.make the villain more noticeable, with the original series it was fairly back and fourth with different "Main" villains like devimon
5.just explore the ideas of digimon more as there's so many different ideas for digivolution that it's almost criminal not to explore them

Interestingly, during the early tri. fandom discussions, many theorized the way the posters focused on two characters meant those two would get a DNA Digivolved form for something new.
Which means based on that logic: Rosemon+Vikemon, HerculesKabuterimon+Seraphimon, and Omnimon+Phoenixmon. By sheer coincidence did Meiko and Kari's poster pan out with a DNA form in the end.
The idea of swapping Crests/DigiMentals did happen in a CD Drama, but it mostly was used as a gag that worked in Davis and co's favor. How it could be treated seriously, I'm not sure as the first Adventure as more specifically about a single trait, while the second one condensed two traits more out of convenience (and to sell more toys of Veemon).
Having a healthy rogues gallery certainly isn't bad, though with Adventure the villains were fairly disconnected with each other until the Dark Masters appeared, with only minor snippets in-show to suggest Devimon, Etemon and Myotismon were working together all along. Tri is I think ... trying to repeat this unfortunately, with even worse results. I think having just ONE main villain and sticking with it is what tri. needs. Whether it's Yggdrasil or Myotismon.
With 02 having explored three forms of evolution (Normal, DNA and Armor), you'd think tri. would take it a step further. Especially since the only thing left for the original eight is to go Mega, and that's been really... uninspired. They just sorta Digivolve like they've been able to do it the whole time.

And I felt the way they digivolved into mega is so....dull like when agumon or gabumon digivolved it was an event to see but with the others is just a regular transformation, also if I could choose a new main villain for a remake I'd have to go with the digimon emperor as he is by far the best villain digimon has ever had.

I did have an App Tai I was tinkering with, albeit for a separate idea.
If the other DigiDestined appeared, they'd be their original Adventure ages.

This would probably include "App Zone" inhabitants who are look a lot like those from other realities like Tamers, Frontier, Saver and Xros, not to mention other numerous ones that we know of so far (as I think I did see 2 juveniles in an game arcade in Koto special ward in Tokyo back in Xros Zone who look a lot like Tachikawa Mimi (13 years old) and Kido Jo (15 years old).

I did have an Appliyama Mimi idea I was toying with. One of the most popular idols in the group, the self proclaimed Princess of Appliyama.
Naturally she has a Palmon, but modified into a music themed Appmon.
