Description Thought I'd give the Outcast Odyssey Card Challenge a whack, and tried a monster idea.Β 

WoodSmoke: A cursed tree modified with steampunk-cybernetics. It was an experiment in clean, wood burning technology that went awry and began to incinerate whatever it encountered cleanly and discreetly. To ward off enemies, it emits a foul smelling wood smoke from the chimney on its head.

Ah man, you did really well (COLORED LINE ART and LINELESS DETAILS LIKE THE SMOKE AND FIRE, boy, you're really putting on the ritz, eh?) but all the rest of the entries are more realistic. I hope they select you for doing something different, the creature itself seems like it'd fit in the game.

Also a general comment: working at a higher resolution shows that your lines even out pretty good when it's resized, but at the same time, it feels like your lines have gotten a lot more confident? So I think that helps and is edging your lineart more where the lil' wobbles naturalize the lineart. Clean digital lines aren't so easily replicated in reality, so that can be a stylistic thing you can use to your advantage.
