Hopefully this hasn't been done yet, but I wanted to put a Sonic Boom redesign on the table.
Everyone's fixated on most of the male Mobians wearing athletic tape, so let's play around with the concept for Sonic's robot double, shall we?
Aside from having a new collar that emulates the new scarf, I thought of Metal Sonic being wrapped in special electrical insulation tape. Sonic likes to irritate Metal Sonic by referring to it as duct tape though.
"I knew Egghead was cheap, but wow. Well whatever holds his clattering, clanking collection of something-something junk piles together, ammirite?"
"EGGMAAAAAN! AND I'LL HAVE YOU KNOW THAT DUCT TAPE CAN FIX ANYTHING!"
"Oh? So can it fix that blow to your pride, 'cause let's face it, you've hit rock bottom, Egghead. Case in point." *points to the buried Burnbot*
"URGH! When Metal Sonic's finished with you, rodent, it'll be YOU who'll need the duct tape in place of that athletic tape! But I'm not sharing any of mine, so there!"
"Wow, real mature, Egghead."

Aw man. I was kinda stoked to see if they'd do something new with Metal Sonic.
Same kinda goes for Shadow actually.
I'm rather befuddled as to why they didn't change their designs.

The body type has got me thinking but really it's pretty damn sharp for lack of a better phrase, the torso even shows it better.

yeah his only appearance in animated well besides Sonic CD is the Sonic OVA and that's about it so yeah he needs to make a show stopper appearance .......why do I picture HBK doing Metal Sonic's voice?

I meant more in that there are female fan characters with the wraps, but yes, she has colored ones on her arms and uncolored ones on her waist and shoes.
