Well I can draw animals, I'm not perfect of course, but they're not as hard in general as humans because humans don't give them specific identities. Anatomy is one of my favorite things to manipulate which makes such things easier.
I just prefer humans

pay attention to bone structure. When I was younger, it struck me that all mammals and most other animals have the same basic bone structure, given they have bones. THe heads I can't help you with, I stylize that anyway. But when looking at the way things are shaped, the way things move... just think human, but wrong. Look at a wolf for example. Stand on your tiptoes and bend your knees. That's how a wolf is! its like a human, but it has a really long foot and a really smol knee, if you know what I mean. Its toes become a paw and its heel becomes like a backwards knee.... It's more complicated with things like bats, but its basically the same with everything.
