I love the mood and atmosphere of this piece, such a limited palette conveys so much, especially at full size.
When viewed smaller, as a thumbnail, the image doesn't read as clearly. I was intrigued by it because I couldn't see the trees from the thumbnail, but read the title.
I think extending the wonderfully layered ground plane to the edges of the composition would help with this, as well as perhaps subtly indicating more vague trees in the back.
I love the layered shapes of the grass, but their sharpness pulls focus away from our lone figure in the tree. The soft edges of the tree and the figure cause them to recede and become indistinct.
