While the duo was traning and about to head home, they were surprised by a huge black bear that didn't seem to be in its natural state. They fought it, though Usagi's leg got badly hurt and Lee defeated the bear and saved Usagi's life. Since Usagi couldn't walk, Lee carried her back to the village of Hidden Leaf and a tingling feeling in her stomach started to appear.
