I've read a Gurren Lagann and Bleach Crossover fanfic in which Kamina is sent to Soul Society after he dies and gains Soul Reaper powers and his sword becomes his Zanpaktou. In Bleach, the swords, Zanpaktous, are actually sentient beings with their own names, when a Soul Reaper reaches out to the Zanpaktou through their connection by knowing their name and saying it, the sword is "released" into a different form (i.e. Spear, Trident, Sickle, Wrist-mounted Blade, and other, stranger forms) and gains a specific power (i.e. Energy Projection, Illusions, Fire Control, Ice Control, Energy Absorbtion, Paralysis, and other, more complicated abilities). Kamina's Zanpaktou has the personality of a scared child (reasonably so, since it was only recently "born" and was thrown head-first into a deadly battle) that gains comfort from his wielder's confidence, is named Tenshou (Heaven-piercer), is "released" into a drill-sword with two black Kamina-shades on its hilt, which is used during its special ability... the Giga Drill Breaker. I know it was only a fan fiction, but I still couldn't help screaming the move along with the character when it happened. God, good times.

Well, yeah. How isn't he badass? Really, the only person who's remotely equal to him in badassery is Bro/Dirk Strider from Homestuck, and that's because he/they is/are a practical mirror image of Kamina, glasses and all.
