Description As the sun set o’er the Irish Sea,

The sky turns the red of the blood in me.

A tear from my eye as I remember those days,

And envy those who are now in their graves.

For now my friends happened something unclean

It’s again’ the law to wear ol’ Ireland’s green.

The color we must wear is England’s blood red,

But let it fore’er remind us of the blood we have shed.

And if St. Patrick’s green we dare to wear around,

Man or woman you’re hung till dead and slung upon the ground.

So now we cast unto the sod the shamrocks from our hats,

But mine I bare for England to see, death, I fear not that.

But when England’s power, makes the grass grow red,

And all the leaves in summer hide in dread,

I’ll leave this land for one beyond the sea,

I’ll proudly wave that flag of green for all proud eyes to see.
