Description

Boris, age 7.

Is this the first time I ever mentioned his full name? Meh
For first time viewers who don't know him, he's Russia's son.

He's starting to learn about chemistry from age 5. If you're wondering where is his infamous burn scar, the next year there'll be that explosion accident that will change his well-being forever.

I have fun designed his child version. I imagined his design as "that one sickly kid". He always wore sanitary mask and his nose is kinda red for constant cold he always caught. Usually parents with sickly kids tends to be way overprotective towards them, so Ivan always make sure he's always stay at home as possible. His genius for science has already shown at age 4, thus making him develop a feeling of haughtiness towards other people already.
Different from how he is now (age 13), he was kinda gloomy around this age. He always follows people he thinks can protect him like a small baby chick.

Wow, love the design, he seems like a good character and I love anything involving with Russia!

Β

But, I'm curious...I notice that the other Hetalia Next Generation kids have both parents. So, if I may ask, what happened to his mother? Or, did Ivan just randomly found him and took him in as his son? Just curious as all.

Β

If you answer, I much appreciate it.

Β

But, either way, love your art and headcanons!

Β

Great job! Keep it up! Kudos! Peace out! XD

Boris and all the kids does have mothers, but they're aren't nations. They're just ordinary humans.

I just mentioned them as cameos, but they're not going to appear at all. Boris is indeed Ivan's biological son.

In Boris' case, his mother is a weapon scientist of Russian's military. She's a workaholic and almost never took care of him in Boris' childhood, so Boris doesn't really know much about her either. Although he does inherited his mother's trait in science.

Thank you! I'm glad you like them!

May I ask what makes you like Boris?

Hehehe...I have not responded to his message for over a month! I apologize for my tardy. But, I hardly go on my DA nowadays. But, I want to get right back on it. Anyway...

Β

Thanks for the explanation! And, now it makes sense to me as to why his mother is never mentioned. The story of his mother is very interesting, and it saddens me a little that Boris never had a mother. And, if that were the case, Russia never had a decent lover (or love) of his own. But, that seems to fit Russia's life, considering what his history goes through. Either way, I love anything that has to do with Russia. (And, America. X3)

Β

No problem!

Β

Well, aside from being Russia's son (again, big fan of Russia), Boris has an interesting back-ground. From what I could tell from your gallery and some notes about him, he is sort of a complex child and is tainted in darkness much like his father. And, even if I do see similarities between father and son, there is still a distinctive trait about Boris. Unlike his father, he appears to be very weak and gets sick, something Russia seems to tend to and probably makes Russia more important. Boris appreciates his father and loves him (something hardly anyone else does...well, except Ukraine and Belarus). I think about Boris I love most is the relationship he has with his father, and how he is like Russia...but, still different. Something a good character has if they're the child of a canon character. (Sorry, if I rambled...I tend to do that.)

Yeah, there's just something about vulnerable and frail children. They makes you want to protect and take care of them

Ivanovich is one of the patronymics used for Russian naming system. Russian children middle names is based from their father's name that ended with suffix based on their genders.

If it's a boy, it's Father's name + ovich/evich.
If it's a girl, it's Father's name + ovna/evna.

In Serbia it is a popular surname. Most Serbian surnames have the surname suffix -ić (-ić suffix is a Slavic diminutive, originally functioning to create patronymics) and they are paternal (father), maternal (mother), occupational, or derived from personal traits...

I have chosen 4 surnames and asked my friend which one should I choose and she said Ivanović so my OC ended up with that surname owo'

Yep. I love Boris' character as he is now.

The eccentric and haughty guy with sarcastic jolly attitude that only recognizes love only for his father. Has difficulty accepting anything beautiful and like chaos more. Love toying with people feelings as if it's only a measly game.

He's one hell of a kickass geek

He's gone through much and he's actually grown to be a character who is flawed yet unique in his own eccentric way~

He's not only smart, but he's pretty tough. And I'll remember not to mess with him XP

Yeah, but he's only tough mental-wise. Physical-wise, you can beat him with one measly stick and win.

(Might I just say as someone that also RPs Russia I love that you made Ivan -protective- of him. Because you know what a bad fan would have Ivan do! So you made me smile just with that detail.)

Thanks! Yeah, I hate when fan-weaboos just assumed that he's a crazy abusive father. I imagined Ivan has a soft side towards his family, especially on his first own blood son. Moreover, if the said son is a very sickly child.

(Agreed. My Russia is a big time family man to the point a Hong Kong asked me to adopt him. I see him as needing love and not knowing how to express it, not a heartless monster.)
