BLueStormDragoN β€” Fearsome?

Description With only a quick look, this may look like the image of a fearsome and ruthless beast getting ready to feast on a little girl.
But, that little girl appears to be sound asleep. Could the dragon be her protector then?
If he is her guardian, then; he is NOT a ruthless monster after all.

"A wolf in sheeps clothing." "don't judge a book by it's cover." "Appearences are deceiving." So many warnings and yet we seldom follow them.

This drawing is a twin, of sorts with Angelic? I was going for the opposite effect in this one.

You should make a strory behind this to explain what happened and how the little girl got there and how the dragon became her guardian.

If you do this, you'll upgrade from five s to 10 s plus a few s, s, and other things

That is an interesting idea, actually. I don't know if I have enough talent to write anything good but, I might just try it anyway.

Thanks for the fave and the s too.

It seems like the dragon saved her from drowning and is now protecting her until she fully recovers. In any case, there is only one word that can describe this

BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!

Thanks!
Yeah, I think the meaning of this drawing gives it most of it's appeal for me. I'm happy you think so too.

I loved the texture on the skin (scalesΒΏ?) on the dragon, the darkness of the cave and the water little details, looks like those antique theatre backrounds.

You are definitaly a master making textures with pencils. But I think you have to improve expressions and faces The girl looks ok but the face of the dragon looks a bit weird for me...maybe is the mouth what outstands me, I don't really know...

BLueStormDragoN In reply to Aegis-Illustration [2006-02-26 17:15:48 +0000 UTC]

The main problem I have with faces (not the only one though) is the size of my paper. I like to do full scences these days and the always leaves my characters to be too small. I will try to address the issue when I run out of my current format paper.

Which format do you use to work with?

As big as the piece is, more stunning the photo will be XD

I can assure you that

I use 9x12 but, it's been suggested I move to bigger. I agree that bigger means easier to make details and better results but, it's also more area to cover. Oh well, I'll have to get bigger paper when I run out of this one.

Yes, it's more area, but the results are a bunch better! Give it a try

I follow those warnings! And by golly they help me more often than not. Met so many people that it's hard for me to keep up with them, so I stay in the now where that is concerned. Meheh

That's very good! It's sometimes difficult to do but, it's a rule that is usually important to follow.

yeah right.

there is an emotional attachment (maybe) between them...

and it is more powerful than just mere beastlike appearance.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

BLueStormDragoN In reply to hatedgoddess [2006-02-24 13:36:51 +0000 UTC]

Yes, there is an emotional connection between the two. and you are right, that dragon really is not monster at all, he just looks the part. That's why I wanted to do this drawing; to show appearances are not something to judge a person by. Thanks for the comment
