Name: Kougawa Akebi (Red River, Scarlet Fire)
Age: 14
D.O.B: July 16th
Hair/Eyes: Red/Green w/ flecks of gold
Identifiable traits: birthmark beneath each eye (inherited from mother), 2 scars running down left cheek, earring the shape of a jackal�fs head. Is loud, usually brash, stubborn & flamboyant. Likes her teammates, training, baseball (esp. practicing her fastballs + curveballs), sleeping, milk and eggs. Dislikes feeling weak, walking away from a fight, when girls are bullied, denied from a fight or not taken seriously because of their gender.
Abilities:
Hotarubi (Firefly Ember): heating up small stones (carved til very sharp/picked up frm the ground) in her hands til they glow red, then throwing them at the opponent.
Fuuga (Wind Fang): incorporated w/ her Rouga (Wolf Fang, a glove w/ claws she wears in combat). Concentrates chakra on the tips of each finger til it creates a wind fast enough to slice.
Tettsui (Hammer): putting her hands together and bringing them down on the ground w/ immense strength, causing pieces of rock/earth/pavement (many X�fs heavier than force emitted) to fly up at the enemy
Raidenren (Lightning Chain): coils it around enemy and electrocute w/ lightning jutsu, or wound w/ the hook at the end
Curveball/Fastball: named after her baseball throws. Concentrates chakra into a swirling ball and throwing it at the enemy (similar to Jiraiya�fs Rasengan) Can time/will her chakra to change shape midthrow (eg. Into s/th like a 2edged fuuma shuriken) Can also set the chakra ball in flames w/ a fire jutsu
Advanced Bloodline: Has an A.B. ability to control her own blood (and nobody else�fs) and will it into any shape/state. Her bandages cover the scars obtained frm A.B. training, and frequent loss of blood + pref. in using jutsus that take a lot of stamina require her to rest a lot & obtain iron + protein frm foods (eg. Milk & eggs)
Sekketsu Senbon (Red Blood Throwing Needles): Willing her blood into senbon and throwing them @ opponents
Sekketsu Koushyou (Red Blood Crimson Tide, follow-up move frm RBTN): willing her blood senbon back into liquid form and sending it against the blood current in the enemy�fs blood vessels. Causes rupture of vessels &/or damage of the heart chambers
Dokumyaku Koushyou (Poison Vein Crimson Tide, alt. follow-up move) sprinkling mixture of specially made poison + mild gunpowder onto blood b4 throwing senbons. Rest of procedures identical to above jutsu. (often guarantees immediate death)

Although she is female, Akebi carries herself off as a boy, and most of the village knows her as that except for her teammates, close friends and sensei. She can�ft stand the fact that girls are seen as naturally inferior to guys. In order to achieve her fullest potential, she cannot afford to have male rivals (whether in matches or training) hold themselves back in order to spare a girl �gmercy�h. Her biggest ambition is to ultimately become a jounin and join the anbu team, and most of all, surpass the abilities of her mother, Hibana.
Her parents were both anbu, and Hibana left the anbu team in order to take care of and train her daughter. She respected and loved both her parents, esp. her mother. Hibana once told her �g I train you to be not a woman or a man. I train you to be a shinobi.�h From her mother, Akebi inherited the philosophy that male and female can be equal in strength. Thus, Akebi receives rigorous training everyday. But her mother is sparing in teaching her Advanced Bloodline jutsus as they are risky to execute and deadly if overused. Nvtheless, Akebi didn�ft question her mother�fs decision. Once, the anbu team was sent to an enemy village for a mission, and several members, all A.B bearers, were captured, Akebi�fs father included. The anbu team was ordered not to rescue their teammates until the village�fs ploy had been fully rooted out. It turned out that, in order to gain absolute power over the village, the enemy planned to either seize control of Raigakure�fs A.B bearers or wipe them out by brainwashing and dispatching the captured anbu on an assault on the village. 2 weeks after the mission, Akebi�fs father attacked the Kougawa household (hence akebi�fs scars). While she held off her husband, Hibana told Akebi to wait for her at the baseball court and gave her daughter her jackal earring (Hibana was the �gjackal�h in her anbu team. She wore the earring even after she quit) as a vouch that she would meet her there. It was not Hibana who came to meet her, but her sensei (who happens to be hibana�fs best friend. Ex-lover? Speculative XP) who brought her the news of her mother�fs death. Akebi turned her sorrow into hate, hate toward her mother for breaking her promise, and her inner pain fuelled her will to become strong. From that day onward, she thought of her mother as weak and vowed to become stronger than her mother, a woman, could ever be. She declared herself a man and trained furiously in extreme taijutsu, various high-chakra ninjutsu and A.B jutsu.

Only after the Chuunin Exams did her sensei decide it was due time to tell her the full details of her mother�fs death (to prevent her from further straining herself. She was hospitalized for excessive blood loss in executing all her A.B jutsus during the exam). That day 4 yrs ago, sensei left Akebi at the baseball court to aid Hibana after he found out frm Akebi abt the assault. When he got there, Hibana had managed to subdue the aggressor but was also near death due to overuse of A.B jutsus. Hibana decided, she was going to die with her husband, as his wife. She asked sensei to keep the details from Akebi til the right time arrives, and finally, she executed a self-destruct explosion jutsu which sent the entire house in flames. After Akebi found out about this, she was deeply moved and regretted all the hateful thoughts she had abt her mother in the past. She declared that from then on, she would strive to become a strong woman, just like her mother, Kougawa Hibana. (thus breaking the news that she had been female all along ^^;
