in my "canon" there are 2 types of living aircraft . one of whitch are the "Primordials"
natural inhabitants that build and repair their own crystalline bodies to adapt to their surroundings , making them allmost immune to aging (represented by the allmost alien-looking plane on the left)

the other type are the "Constructoids"
whitch are special aircraft puropusely modified to be brought to life with a starflake core , these are quite rare and somewhat similar to "dire machines" but a with a cleaner and more maintanance-friendly internal structure , a lot of whitch is hidden in the walls , cavities , and the underbelly of the aircraft

both types exhibit a subtle glow , especialy visable in the night . the brightness of whitch changes depending on the aircraft's mood.
