The Origin of boxing is quite the tale; one day a Greek man punched another Greek man and BOOM! It’s a sport! Boxing is one of the oldest Olympic sports on the planet and has since been refined and perfected for over 3,000 years. Today these two Nintendo boxers will step into the ring to claim the title of ultimate boxer!;

Battle of the Boxers!

Spring Man- main fighter of Arms. At 5' 11" and weighing 168 lb, Spring Man is a young 20 year old ARMS athlete who owns and trains at Spring Gym. For years Spring Man has dreamed of defeating the Grand Prix Champion and organizer Max Brass and becoming the new champion of the ARMS Grand Prix. Spring Man's life changed one day when he woke up with a pair of swirling, extendable limbs called ARMS, the origins of extendable ARMS are unknown. The debate origins ARMS have different theories including heredity, mutation, and even experimentation by extraterrestrial life but no one find an answer as the existence of those with ARMS have existed for over 4000 years. Humans are not the only things that can have ARMS but plants and animals as well. Individuals with the "Gift of ARMS" often participate in the ARMS League, an organization responsible for ARMS fighting matches and run the ARMS Grand Prix tournament. As an ARMS fighter Spring Man is equip with different weaponized gloves called ARMS (how original…). Spring Man wields three different types of ARMS; The Toaster is a basic boxing glove but after charging its Fire attribute activates allowing it to easily knock down and burn opponents and deals 30 additional damage when charged, The Boomerang is a set of gloves with boomerangs attached that have Wind attributes which will blow fighters away a short distance in the direction of the punch and deal 10 additional damage when charged, and lastly the Tribolt is a Multi-Shot ARMS that fires many small projectiles at once making it harder to evade than other ARMS and has a Stun attribute which makes his unable to move for a short period of time. During his time training Spring Man has gained a few abilities, one allowing him to parry incoming attacks giving him added time to counter and punish. The parry is mainly used to bait and counter punches, cover wake-up options and defend against aggressive opponents. He can mix his combos by wearing two different ARMS to diverse his fighting style (Ex- Toaster & Boomerang, Tribolt & Toaster, Boomerang & Tribolt etrc.). When Spring Man’s health reaches 25% (250 HP) or lower, he glows red and his ARMS are and stay permanently charged. All ARMS fighters have a what’s called a Rush Attacks, when their Rush Gauge is full Spring Man’s punches become powerful and/or rapid leading to a high damage output and increases the ARMS weight classes depending what glove he wears. Because of his ARMS stretchy abilities Spring Man can launch his fists at his opponents from a distance and can even curve the direction while traveling and can grab foes from a far and pull them in to do close combat attacks. Spring Man is very energetic and hates to lose, he has fought some crazy opponents with the ARMS abilities like Ribbon Girl, Ninjara, Master Mummy, Minmin, Mechanica, Twintelle, Byte & Barq, Kid Cobra, Helix, and even Max Brass himself. However as much as crazy and effective his ARMS are they do have faults; Mult-Shot ARMS like the Tribolt are generally light and can be knocked down by most other ARMS and the Rush Attack can be cancelled if damage is taken. Also if Spring Man launches both his ARMS at once he’s left vulnerable.

Little Mac – protagonist of Punch Out!! At 5' 7’’ weighing 107, Little Mac is 17 year old boxer who hails from the Bronx, New York. There exists a group called the World Video Boxing Association (a parody of the real-life World Boxing Association) where they have a long history of rookie boxers joining the ranks in an effort to become world champion boxers. Mac traveled to New York City in hopes of searching for someone that could train him to be the champion he dreamed to become. It was not until he met Jerome "Doc" Louis, who was a former heavyweight champion in his own right, who agreed to trian the rookie boxer and then he began his journey to the top of the World Circuit beating many other boxers standing in his path. He may be tiny but Little Mac packs quite the punch (heh heh), he’s a force to be reckoned with because his movement on the ground is extremely quick. With his ground dodges and attacks being among the fastest and with the majority of his grounded attacks boasting high damage outputs and knockbacks. He can throws punches and jabs in a matter of seconds and can counter even the most powerful of punches. He can also charge a single punch and while charging doesn’t flinch, when fully charged he rushes forward with a devastating punch. What he lacks in size he makes for his speed and is quite strong for someone of his weight class and size. Little Mac also has a secret ability called Power Meter where if he takes or deals damage fills the Power Meter and when fully charged allows him to use the KO Uppercut, an immensely fast and powerful uppercut that is capable of KOing anyone he makes contact with even their health is at low percentages. If Little Mac drinks what’s called "Giga Mac Juice" and by punching the other player at certain times (or hits the Smash Ball) he becomes Giga Mac where his size increase and becomes a hulking powerhouse. Doc Louis did a good job as Little Mac not only became champion despite him being the smallest contestant but was worthy of competing in the Super Smash Bros universe and faced the likes of Mario, Kirby, Captain Flacon, Fox McCloud, Smaus Aran, Ike, Ganondorf, Bayonetta, Bowser and he even fought former American professional boxer Mike Tyson! Mac does have a few weaknesses, like when he becomes Giga Mac although his strength increases he loses his speed and is much slower. Also while possessing a fearsome ground game with high power and quick speed movement, Little Mac has a notoriously weak aerial game and has the worst recovery due to his attacks only being very short-ranged.
