Description
Clones are an organism or cell, or group of organisms or cells, produced asexually from one ancestor or stock, to which they are genetically identical. On July 5th 1996, a female sheep named Dolly was the first mammal cloned from an adult somatic cell, using the process of nuclear transfer. It is the hope that process of cloning will bring back species that have long been extinct like the woolly mammoth. Other than reviving endangered or extinct species cloning is also used to medical purposes, livestock, and drug production to test possible medicines. In the world of fiction Clones are often used to challenge the hero and today these two are clones from the most famous superheroes of all time;
Superboy, Clone of Superman
Vs
X-23, Clone of Wolverine
But put them together in a battle to the death... who will be victorious?
Battle of the Clones!
Superboy – also known as Kon-El and Conner Kent. When monstrous Doomsday invade Metropolis, Superman had the biggest fight of his life as he never had faced such a powerful opponent other than Darkseid in terms of strength. This monster was so strong that the Man of Steel had blood coming out of his mouth with each blow. Superman eventually won the battle, but at the cost of his life (actually put into a “Healing Coma”). With the Man of Steel gone Metropolis was left vulnerable to super criminals, and even Batman himself admitted that the world needed Superman. It was then that a secret scientific research center called Project Cadmus, known for its achievements in genetic engineering and it's human cloning capabilities, attempted in a clone designed to replace and hopefully become the next Superman that would follow the agendas of Project Cadmus as well as the Directors own personal agenda. After many failed attempts to acquire Superman's DNA, one including an attempt to actually steal his corpse, Director Westfield decided to genetically alter a human clone to look like Superman and made the clone to be the closest human equivalent to a Kryptonian as they could based on their research. After twelve failed attempts, the clone known as Experiment 13 was grown from a single cell to a teenage boy in less than a week and was a complete success. The clone was implanted memories and underwent an artificial maturation process intended to match the same age as the original Superman. Unfortunately, the clone was released from his cloning tube too early and emerged as a teenager. While at first calling himself "Superman", he would later be called and known as Superboy. While created artificially, Superboy possesses the same Kryptonian Physiology as Superman; his main source of his super powers is exposure to solar radiation from a yellow sun, has Heat Vision, Super Hearing, Enhanced Vision (Electromagnetic Spectrum, Telescopic, X-Ray, Microscopic, and Infrared), Flight by manipulating graviton particles to defy the forces of gravity, possesses a dense molecular structure and supercharged bio-electric aura giving him invulnerability to extreme energy forces and against toxins and diseases, Superhuman Speed, Strength, Stamina, Agility, Reflexes, and Super Breath which he can create hurricane force winds by exhaling air from his lungs, chill the air as it leaves his lungs to freeze targets, and reverse the process to pull large volumes of air or vapor into his lungs. Superboy also possesses what’s called Tactile Telekinesis, a telekinetic force field that surrounded his body as a protective shield allowing him to simulate Superman-level speed, strength, flight and invulnerability. With his TK field he can break free of an opponent's grip by pushing the field outward to force the opponent away or rendering an opponent immobile by extending the TK field as long as they were both standing on the same ground. With his TK field he could lift the world's largest yacht and he threw a football at Mach 5, fly at Mach 5, create force fields, can exert his force into an object to explode or disassemble it, fire telekinetic force blasts from his hands with the concussive force equivalent to 5,000 pounds of TNT. He’s held his own against Superboy Prime, defeated two different evil adult versions of himself Black Zero and Superman Tomorrow, defeated Kingdom Come Red Robin, Flash, and stalemated Kingdom Come Superman, has served on the Teen Titans, Young Justice, The Ravers, and the Legion of Superheroes, possibly moved the earth out of orbit and kicked Doomsday into orbit, blew up Kal-L just by touching him, beat Martian Manhunter unconscious, fought cloned kryptonians alongside Superman and Supergirl, resisted a psychic blast that KO'd an entire school, partially resisted a black lantern ring, and even threw an entire city into outer space! He definitely has earned the “Super” title but just like the Man of Steel, the Teen of Steel also has weaknesses. Like Superman he is vulnerable to magic and weak against Kryptonite. Technically being young he’s somewhat cocky, headstrong, and has anger issues and enough physical damage can kill him. His telekinetic superhuman strength is not technically super strength in the traditional sense as he had been bound with chains that were surrounded by an energy field which he was unable to escape because he could not directly affect the chains with his power. His force field does repel gases or energy based attacks, though his skill in deflecting energy attacks has improved. Also, he’s actually 6 years old so isn’t as wise as Superman.
“From the moment I first opened my eyes in that Cadmus Pod, there’s been one more thing that I’ve wanted and feared; to know what is to be Superman”

X-23 – product of the Weapon X program. An organization known only as the Facility attempts to recreate Weapon X; a secret U.S. Government project intended to deliberately induce superpowers for military purposes. With all their attempts ending up failures, they turn to hiring renowned geneticist Sarah Kinney, who says she can give them what they want through cloning the genome they recovered from X-Men’s Wolverine. Sarah's attempts hit a wall when she realizes the genome is heavily damaged, she tries to cut corners by duplicating the X chromosome but the Facility denies her request, stating that changing the gender of Weapon X may change the abilities of the weapon itself. In an act of defiance, Sarah goes behind the Facility’s backs and ends up creating a viable specimen on the twenty third attempt which a man named Zander Rice, who hates Wolverine for murdering his father in Weapon X, forces Sarah to continue her work. Nine months later X-23 is born. At the age of seven, the little girl known as X-23 was trained in martial arts, conditioned to a Trigger Scent, and exposed to abuse in order to strip of her of any humanity and sense of self. To activate her mutation, Rice induced her with radiation which works but nearly kills her and he laced her claws with adamantium without giving her anesthesia. X-23's skills are sold to the highest bidder and she becomes one of the world's most sought-after assassins by the age of 11. Rice’s cruel actions continue as he’s left her for dead on multiply missions even though she survives. In an attempt to seize control of the Facility, Rice has X-23 murder his employer Martin Sutter, head of the project that created X-23, and his family but she spares his son Henry. When Sarah goes to see X-23 after Sutter's death, X-23 shows Sarah a photograph of Sutter and his family, and Sarah realizes that Rice is using X-23 for personal gain. Sarah decides to free X-23 but before she does, Rice shows her X-24 through X-50 and Sarah is horrified at the sight. Sarah then gives X-23 orders to destroy the clones and the Facility, which X-23 succeeds in doing but Sarah is killed by X-23 during the escape thanks to the Trigger Scent Rice laced her as one more attempt to torment X-23. As Sarah lies dying, she gives X-23 the name Laura and tells her she's her mother and that she loves her. Laura lies with her mother in the snow, in tears begging her not to leave her. Laura then tracks down Wolverine to confront and kill him and herself. Laura manages to beat Logan but he talks her out of killing herself tells her he knows what happened to Laura thanks to a copy of Sarah's letter he received from Sarah. Logan then offers to help Laura start over but she is captured by Captain America and S.H.I.E.L.D., after telling her story to Captain America and Daredevil, Daredevil convinces Steve to let Laura stay with Logan since she is as much a victim as the people she's killed and that if Steve turns her over to S.H.I.E.L.D. they'll just use her like a weapon like the Facility did. Steve decides to let Laura go and tells her to go to Logan. As a clone of Wolverine, Laura possesses most of his mutant abilities at strength levels rivaling, or occasionally exceeding, his own. She possesses an accelerated healing factor that allows her to regenerate damaged tissue and has allowed her to regrow limbs and is believed to be superior then Wolverine's due to the fact that, apart from her claws, the rest of her skeleton has not been coated in adamantium. X-23's skeleton includes two retractable adamantium claws in each arm and one in each foot that she can extend and retract at will. Adamantium is a rare, man-made metal alloy that is extremely dense and stable on a molecular level, making it indestructible, even Thor has a hard time breaking it! With the combination of adamantium claws and her healing factor makes her exceptionally difficult to kill. She also possesses superhuman durability and endurance, as well as her longevity, which is expected to mirror that of Wolverine since her muscles produce considerably less fatigue toxins during physical activity than the muscles of an ordinary human. She also possesses superhuman senses, capable of seeing at much greater distances, same level of clarity in near-total darkness, hear sounds that ordinary humans can't and to hear sounds that ordinary humans can but at much greater distances, and her highly developed sense of smell lets her track targets by scent with an impressive degree of success even if the scent has been eroded by natural factors such as the weather. She is also superhumanly agility, reflexes, stamina, and durability. X-23 has received extensive training in armed and unarmed combat and is an expert in a number of martial arts, as well as in the performance of black ops missions. She is an expert assassin, master at espionage, speaks fluent in English, French, Japanese and Arabic, is very intelligent and even has a photographic memory, and presumably has a detailed knowledge base in anatomy and torture. She also has the strength to lift up to 800 lbs with maximum effort and like Wolverine can enter a Berserker state where she loses all self-control and ignores all pain as she is consumed by the animalistic killer instinct that's still deep within her. She’s capable of fighting the Hulk without sustaining any severe injuries and surviving energy blasts from Nimrod, bested Wolverine in combat during their first encounter, killed or at least mortally wounded Lady Deathstrike, slices the Punisher’s gun before he could pull the trigger, was gutted by Lady Deathstrike and manages to fight back and win, survived being shot at by a large group of assassins, became a member of the X-Men, defeated Wolverines son Draken 3 times, helped the X-Men win a turf war against the Dark Avengers, won most of her battles in Avengers Arena, defeated Blackheart the son of Mephisto the demon who created Ghost Rider, was asked by Black Widow to join Avengers Academy, teamed up with Spider-Man to save the young mutant from an alternate reality version of Iron Man, briefly became Captain Universe who is a manifestation of the Universe itself, became a member of X-Force, and after the death of Logan she became the new Wolverine. Despite being incredibly hard to kill, X-23 does have her weaknesses. She is weak to powerful energy blasts and she shares some common weaknesses with Wolverine due to her nature as a clone; her healing factor stems from her brain meaning she can be killed by drowning or destroying her brain. Due to the lack of an adamantium skeleton, Laura is more susceptible to decapitation and can be injured more easily than Wolverine. Her healing factor can be bypassed a few ways; it can be overtaxed making it harder for her to heal, and Carbonadium introduced into the system is poisonous and can stop healing factors if not hinder them to a near useless level.
“I'm not X-23. I'm not your experiment. I'm not your **** property! You are the last person who will ever think they can own me. No one owns me! I'm not a thing. I'm Laura Kinney! I'm the daughter of Sarah. I'm the daughter of Logan. I'm Wolverine!!!”
