The Dragon of the West himself

Avatar the Last Airbender is an absolute must see, great story, excellent character development, awesome action and animation with humor. One the best things to witness watching this series is other then Aang coming to terms that he is the Avatar and accepting his role and responsibility, would have to be Zuko’s story of redemption. His journey from trying to earn back his honor from his father who doesn’t love him to making a path for himself was very well written and satisfying to watch. Zuko change wasn’t easy though as he had help, mainly from this one amazing character; Uncle Iroh. Iroh became a father figure and was with Zuko since the day of his banishment, guiding him that there’s more to life then honor and to live a life he wants instead of what his father wants. While Iroh had a few moments in Book 1, Book 2 was where he really shined. His wisdom and guidance not only helped Zuko but Aang and even Toph. Probably one of my favorite Iroh moments was when he was training Zuko to beat Azula and he was explaining the four elements and how the people live in each nation, explaining that it’s important to draw and learn from different places as if you only learn from one place your mind becomes rigid and stale. It is by this mindset he learned to redirect lightning by studying the movements of Waterbenders. 2020 hasn’t been the greatest year so far and there are times we could all use someone like Uncle Iroh to help us out. He’s loyal, open-minded, humorous, advising and kind and that’s why he’s my favorite.
