First there was you,
who loved to be grounded and was afraid to fly.
Then there was me,
who loved to fly and didn't stay grounded for very long.
Just you and me, Together.
I wanted you to fly with me.
You wanted me to stay on the ground.
So I did.
For awhile.
Until being on the ground started to hurt more than leaving you.
So I left.

Next was you,
Who loved to fly, fast and dangerously.
Then there was me,
Who loved to fly, at my own pace.
Just you and me, Racing.
I wanted to slow down and rest.
You wanted to keep going.
So I did.
For a little awhile.
Until flying fast started to hurt more than leaving you.
So I left.

Last there was me,
who was tired, and close to collapsing.
And then there was you,
who caught me as I was falling.
I wanted to sleep in your arms.
You wanted to carry me.
So you did.
For a really long time.
Until I woke up and could fly again.
And you stayed.
