Description A Project for Taronga Zoo in New South Wales, Australia. I was part of a selected group that were chosen to paint designs on life size Rhinos. A dozen and a half artisans and groups were in a warehouse for two weeks designing rhinos.A project organizer would check in every couple of days so the place was left to the artists to run, it was like letting the lunatics out of their padded cells. It was quite a unique and memorable experience as a few were very famous artists, street artists and sculptors. Those that weren't were certainly trying to be. There was a lot of eccentric behavior. Among them were mosaic artists and a renown sculptor who repurposed his rhino by further fiberglass alterations and additions of epoxy  resin organs and household items. Whilst I arrived with cans of paint and a tackle box full of brushes, the street artists arrived with  tackle boxes filled with paint nozzles, knapsacks filled with spray cans and untold quantities of stickers which they tagged everything in the warehouse; doors, floors, toilets, cups, walls, etc. Others arrived with numerous packets of posca paint pens in all sizes, with which they also tagged everything in the warehouse; doors floors, toilets, cups, walls etc. The mosaic ladies bought a trolley of boxes filled with tiny square tile sheets, which they tagged with tiny tiles around the warehouse; doors, floors. toilets, cups, walls etc. Lots of laughter, chatter, Hip Hop, Rap, 80s classics and death metal filled the warehouse each day along with every know camera that could be set up on tripods. Some of the participants had up to three tripods set up around their work. Best memory was all the tagging; the coffee cups that were tagged with small tiles, stickers and written words. The constant "fall for" trying to pick up glued tiles off the concrete floor, aiming at the stickers, drawn bullseyes and tiles that had been placed inside the toilet bowls.
