Phil, I absolutely adore this drawing! You have no idea! Sheba looks exactly like my dog, and I could never find a picture anywhere of another dog that looked like her. I've wanted to draw my dog but never dared to try it because animals are way out of my comfort zone. I absolutely love the softness of the color pencils and the shine you've managed to achieve on the fur. The coat looks beautifully soft and shiny. Aside from the lovely blending skills, I love the details on the nose. It looks leathery and you even managed to get those tiny white spots on it. This is perfect!

Thanks again, this was drawn for the same people as the Kirby (German Sheapheard) so they are next to each other framed on the owner wall.
I think it was not quite as good as the Kirby as I only had this photo to work from, but I was quite pleased with it, and very glad you enjoyed looking at it.

Oh, Kirby and Sheba belong to the same family then? That's so cute because I also have a German Shepherd as well as the little Rottie mix. I may be bias, but I like the Sheba drawing a bit more than Kirby. Okay, I am bias. They're both excellent with a nice sharp quality and a lot of detail.

If you don't mind me asking, what paper did you use for those two? I just love the smoothness of the drawing, but yet the colors seem nice and rich, as if the paper had just the right amount of tooth to hold the coloring.

I still enjoy looking at this piece.
