And this marks the last of the backlogged artwork I created over the duration of Brandon's visit (I didn't actually colour it, until he left though. For a couple of days, I was too miserable to work on art :C *dies*)

But yeah... I've wanted to create an image of Donavan (the big caracal guy) and little Casey (the little hyena/warthog boy) for a long time, to show how close their relationship is. Seeing as Casey never had a father (because his mother Candy never told his father Bullseye that she got pregnant) in his early childhood (he does get a stepfather, but aside from that), Donavan, his uncle, pretty much filled that role throughout his life

Truth be told, Donavan had been very distressed when he found out his sister Candy was pregnant (at 17, no less) and not informing the father. For awhile, he considered convincing her to give up her baby for adoption after it was born... but shortly after Casey was born, he found himself growing quickly attached. He was even willingly helping out with the baby, even when it came to the less desirable chores, such as late night feedings and dirty diapers.

In turn, Casey adored his uncle and has considered him as good as a parent, to this day. Even when his mother remarried, and gave her son the option to allow his stepfather to adopt him, Casey respectfully declined, saying that Donavan had earned the right to the title of father (to him) long ago. Candy, knowing that better than anyone else, respected Casey's decision.

Another reason I wanted to create this image so much, was that I wanted an image that went along with the song "Father Figure" by George Michael (because I've always thought it suits these two so well. Most of it anyway XD). So here's SOME of the lyrics, that I think suit these two and their relationship the most:

Fwoot for cuteness As for the image, it came out rather sweet (but Casey's head bugs me xD; I drew it too big ;; Doesn't look quite proportionate with his body, and I forgot a couple traits that I usually draw on a younger character to make them look younger, but... oh well n__n; *facepalm*). Lulz, lookit the lil guy riding Donavan's head 8DDD; Bweee!
