There were some exceptions like Daisy.She had the 'Flower Trampoline' and such back then despite not being in a mainline Mario game after Super Mario Land before now.
Side note: I always thought Daisy's "Flower Trampoline" would be the name of a double jump for her as oppose to Peach's 'Mid-Air Float'
