Oh I see. Nice. (I really hope I can snowboard soon. It's the middle of Dec. and no snow. I'm sure you can relate how frustrated I am. Sorry for the random topic.)

Yeah, that's from last season. I was teaching my friend to ride. My season started this past friday, went friday, saturday, and sunday, and i'm already stir crazy for this weekend. I'm going to be a snowboard instructor The wait for snow is the absolute worst though. Where do you usually ride?

I live in AZ at 7000 feet. The ski resort I go to is called sunrise ski park. Sadly, here's a webcam of the conditions right now [link]

yikes, that sucks. At least you have some altitude. The vertical rise where I'm going to be working is 935 ft, and at the other place near by it's 620. When does the season usually start there? We have to make 90% of our snow, and it usually melts all day and then freezes at night so it's more ice than snow.

Wow, that is a low altitude. We are currently making snow too but this state has been in a drought for over two decades.

The season usually starts in late November or early december. However, my dad said that back in his day (20 years ago) the season would start way earlier. He remembers skiing on Halloween and snowmobiling over shacks. If there is any proof to global warming...its here.

Ouch, I hate ice! Mostly because I was dumb and practiced a backflip for the first time on ice. Needless to say I love my new xray wallpaper of my broken collar bone.

Haha, badass!

Yeah, I've been out west a couple of times. These aren't mountains. They're hills. But it's better than nothing, so I'm not complaining.

Yikes, that sucks. Can't say much about global warming here, with the snowmageddon or whatever it was called dumping close to 5 ft of snow total in two weeks.

I need a snowmageddon! It might rain here, worst season ever.

:/ that sucks. you still have january and february. that's usually when we get the most snow around here. snowmageddon sucked. there was literally no bread left in the walmart the day after one of the storms. the roads had so much snow on em you could stand in the middle of a main road and not have to worry about getting hit by a car lol. it was crazy but we were trapped inside for a few days.

Yeah...hopefully I get the snow by Jan and Feb. I got the ski pass so when they do open I'm definitely going everyday. To make up the costs of the pass I will have to go about 12 times. My usual in a season is 20. Though now I have fewer months.

Wow, I've seen snow like that in Showlow (45 minutes from here) The sidewalks would be just giant walls of snow. The walmart story reminded me of an experience my dad told me. Back in the 60's there was a massive snow storm here that blocked off all roads. Food became scarce and the government sent helicopters sending food to people on rooftops. Looking at how the winter is now...I'm a full believer on global warming Then again for you its the opposite.

as far as global warming goes, there have always been cold and hot, wet and dry spells everywhere through out history. I do believe we are destroying the planet and it may be irreversible, but I'm not ready to believe just yet that there won't be snow in 10 years. y'know? last year we got dumped on, and it's hardly been above freezing since mid december, which is unusual. and recently, the midwest has been dumped on and even now, places like mammoth in california are getting obscene amounts of snow.
You'll get your share of riding soon enough. the wait is always the worst part. I can't go again until new years and it's driving me crazy. haha.

Yeah, I just heard that we're having a really good storm this Wednesday, then its gone on Thursday. The concept of global warming is actually often mistaken. It's not just severe droughts and high rises in temperature. Unusual weather such as harsh winters and unusual wind storms is also by-products of the myth. So even what your experimenting is more proof to me. Whether it is true or not its better to take the precaution than do nothing at all I guess.
