Just wanna say something before I start. I have much more to say than this. Further thoughts will (hopefully) be released another time.

Animation
Like I said above, the animation was pretty good in seasons 1-4. What's wrong with the animation in the other seasons? Nothing huge, really. The animation itself was still very good, but the drawings looked slightly odd, the outlines were too thick and the darker colors kinda annoy me.

Writing
I think I said everything I wanted to say. Even my least favorite episodes are not very bad, just not very interesting to me.

Characters
Garfield, Odie and Jon are portrayed exactly like in the comics. Same with all main US Acres characters. Nermal and Liz were nicer than they were in the comics at the time -and that's not at all a bad thing. Liz and Jon even had successful dates, something they barely had in the pre-2006 comics. Wish Garfield and Arlene could've had the same opportunity to develop and shine at the time.
I do wonder why they replaced Squeak with Floyd though. Floyd was not bad or anything, but Squeak actually existed at the time. The US Acres characters Cody and Blue never appeared on the show either.

The side characters range from good to mediocre. I'm not gonna lie, the worst characters are kinda annoying. There is also a certain controversial side character I will cover at some point.

Music/Intro
Oh boy... Let's just get it over with.

A lot of people really love the Season 3 theme song, but I actually don't like it! I don't hate it, but I really prefer the original Season 1 theme! I really do!
The original theme song was both sweet and funny and the animation makes the theme song incredibly funny. Think about it. The characters were actually fighting over the screentime, which is really funny. But the original theme was about friendship, which makes the intro very fun to watch.
The original theme is one of my all-time favorite theme songs, and the music was also great.

But everything changed in Season 3. Not that I hate the 2nd theme, but it doesn't feel right to me. The 2nd theme song feels more like the theme song for Tiny Toon Adventures than Garfield and Friends. Don't kill me, 90s Garfield fans.
Not that I hate the Tiny Toons theme. I don't hate it. I even prefer that to the 2nd GaF theme.

Why did they decide to change the music style? I don't know. I've always this very jarring. Not only that, but one of the composers (Desiree Goyette) left the music department after the 3rd season! Which means the other one (Ed Bogas) had to compose the show on his own. He didn't do a bad job on his own, but the music got too dark for my taste. Felt like Filmation's Tom and Jerry cartoon a decade earlier...

I'm neutral to the infamous rap theme for Season 7. Blame CBS and The Program Exchange for it's existence.

Enjoyment
The show did have flaws. I don't think this show was perfect and I'm not really fond of the final seasons either. But their not that bad. If you may have other opinions, I respect them, as long you're polite.
But overall, Garfield and Friends was indeed a good show, and is still enjoyable today!
