Description I'm sorry if I appear overbearing by asking all these questions, but I'm really taken with this idea, and am interested in the nitty gritty details, and the behind the scenes workings. I want to know how stuff works. Things such as, how does one live in the persons world? Is there a magic present that supplies stuff, or do the inhabitants have to work for their bread. I'm not saying magic is a bad thing, but too much would render the inhabitants fat and reliant on magic. Why walk when you could just levitate yourself. However based on that, does the magic require something in exchange? So that might throw the fat people idea out the window. Hopefully it would be more of a co-existence with magic. In this instance, I'm trying to find out about the library that the character lives in. Do they live on the floor, in the book shelves, or on tables? Based even on that, the accessibility to other places, and presence or lack of magic, and depending on the peoples skills, would show how they would survive. Do they even have the same requirements to live as humans do? Do they need the ideas listed in Maslow's hierarchy of needs? My immigration is racing, trying to figure out how they could support themselves. Of course I can't think of everything, but I have a pretty broad thought process, if not necessarily a grounded technical implementation of machines and what not.
I mean, they could be running off of hydro power, gears and all that jazz. But what do the gears power, where does the water come from...in a library. So many questions, and so many delicious possibilities. I'm not trying to limit the world they live in, but asking these questions, just postulating what could be done under certain circumstances.
