Thanks so much! I don't know if it's because it's mostly 3d or what but i do seem to have to struggle for attention. I put a lot of value on the quality of attention though

Are you on Myspace or somewhere else too? I think it can be a good site for advertising once art towards some galleries and commercial interests if one is interested of those kind of things that is.

No, not on Myspace or anywhere else. I'd like some kind of following because I want to do some books soon, starting this year probably. It would be good to show a publisher that people like what I do. Thanks for the handy tip!

It would be nice to see a whole book with your pictures in. Did a childrensbook some years ago that was never published. A tuff business I understand, but so much fun to make.

It is a tough business. Over the last 4 years I've illustrated a series of 12 storybooks for Penguin Books Australia written by a popular Australian author called Paul Jennings. I had to get really heavy to get my way. They wanted them to be hip and stylised, I was absolutely sure they should be more traditional even though they are created in 3d. I won the argument after threatening to pull out!

The books are all about a little boy and his pet Rascal the Dragon. They're best sellers now in Australia and we're doing 4 more this year. I have a handful of illustrations from them in my gallery: [link]

Sounds like a fantastic thing you have going on there. And being able to win arguments that way they sure are depending on your good work. Really nice to hear artists succeed that way! -Keep rolling!

I've been illustrating book covers for about 7 years now and I love it. Most of the time I am very easy to work with, friendly and helpful. When I lose my temper (which I do now and then on purpose) everyone is so shocked they're like "Whoa! Okay Bob! Anything you want!"
Then, for quite a while afterwards, they're too scared to ask me to change anything
