I was in your shoes looking down at the world.
Thought that I knew it all,
I was a fairy princess or a handsome prince.
I had all the latest tracks,
the coolest Barbie or the newest action man.

Running around like crazed maniacs,
Playing games like jump rope or fighting over
who got to be Tommy the green power ranger,
The girls had their cooties and the boys
had the mud on their faces from playing splat!

We began to feel our bodies changing,
Things developing and hair starting to sprout,
and a kiss meant so much more than a silly game,
and the boys always seemed to want one thing,
while the girls always acted like they're innocent.

Years passed and it seems those angelic faces,
have twisted into something else.
Those perfect rosy cheeks turned pale white with mascara,
and far too much makeup.
Eyes coated in black tarmac trying to make them stand out,
trading angel eyes for sex drives.

We begin to love and forgot to hate, but that soon changes back.
As we love we rip open our hearts and let the others in,
and if you go you'll kill me.

So
As I lay here dying ,
I see you smiling down at me,
Is this the bloodbath you bargained for ,
Is this the heartbreak you warranted,
Am I the love you once felt ,
Have I become so twisted into this hate,
Have I fallen so far from grace.
