Description
Argos Seen From Mycenae

Argos is a city in the eastern Peloponnese, Greece, about 11Km west of Nafplion. The site has been continuously occupied for over 6,000 years. It was an important settlement during the Mycenaean and Classical periods, being near the sea but also surrounded by a fertile plain. The aerea is still important for citrus and olive production. The castle just visible on the hill is medieval. This picture was taken from the nearby citadel of Mycenae in early June.
