A thousand thanks,my dear friend,I really appreciate your kind comment and feel very happy that you enjoy my art. I tried to create an atmosphere of decadent, and it works at some degrees.
But I have to admit that this one is not very satisfying to me,and helmet is not properly arranged and looks like a funnel at first sight, and theΒ subject maybe too unfamiliar to attract attention and interests.

Oh, I think it's a great illustration full of hints that also raises expectations for more, my dearest friend! I wonder if this is the beginning of an exciting series! I think I would love it! Β

Thanks so much,my dearest friend. But to be honest,I am not satisfied with this one.The compostion is not good enough, and the subject is too unfamiliar to most people,so it failed to get attention and interest.
But anyway,I am so happy that you like the dancing girl.I draw her to bring out a feeling of decadentΒ and unrealistic.

I think I'd prefer the other side of the flint, but I can almost feel the fabric of the helmet and the girl of the photo is one of your best! Great job! You're working pretty fast!

Thanks so much,my dear friend,I agree,it's better to draw the other side of the flintlock.
I am also quite happy that you can recognize this funnel shape thing as a helmet,it's a cavalry helmet from China,Qing Dynasty.I do not own any of the stuff in the picture,so it's mostly based on photo reference and imagination( the arrangement of fabric),I am evenΒ a bit pround of that.

Yes, surely you have reason to be proud! I confess that it took me a few seconds to identify the 'funnel' shape object as a helmet, but I was confused for years with Lucky Eddie's 'hat'! The flint is still very good ... different people pay attention to different details for different reasons ... I had defense shooting lessons years ago, just for fun, and the instructor commented on the 'right' way to leave a gun on a table or drawer: the handle should always be on the right side (or left side if you are left handed) ... it's also the natural way to put a hand gun on a flat surface ... I don't use and I have no weapons, but somehow I never forgot the lesson ... maybe just to sometimes give this useless information and sound wise ... and annoying, ha, ha ...

No, please do not take this into account! I'm writing too much, as usual (and I've already had problems with this ...). You're doing a great job, just keep getting the best angle and arrangement for composition and storytelling, according to your good artistic intuition!

Obs: the 'correct' way should be also the right side of the gun up (or left side up, if you are left handed)...
