Yes you are right,640 Iso -2/3 compensation and 70 % crop...and the main reason one lazy photographer like me

Hi,I'm not so close - maybe 10-12 meters,but lens is 500 mm and image is 70 % crop,I'll try next year to be really ....really close whit macro lens - detail will be different and much better!

by 70% crop did you mean that what we see is the 70% of the source image.. or the 30% ?

By the way, you're so lucky to get those birds next to your place ! and more if you can get close enougth to shoot with a macro lens

we see 30 % of the image!
In Bulgaria in the summer we have lot of place when we can find this birds,this shot (like few others in my profile) is made on Striama river... I live 120 km from that place!

next year I try to catch bee eaters from short distance (2-2.5 meters i hope) with macro lens ...then will be beautiful !
