For those of you who are scratching your heads a bit, here's a bit of backstory.

A few years ago, there was a villain called Simple Simon who wrested control of Alpha Island and enslaved a lot of Deviants to do his bidding. One of those deviants was Psi, Great-man's Daughter (fav.me/d4dg5hk ) Understandably upset about this, and greatly outnumbered, Great-Man petitioned the president for help in toppling Simple Simon's empire. The president refused fav.me/darv2a7

As a matter of fact, the president asked The Mighty American to put a stop to what Great-Man was doing before Great-Man created an international incident. In a low moment, The Mighty American went to Dr. Shock for help.  fav.me/dawqfb9 Dr. Shock created a time machine that was (according to the deal) supposed to put Great-Man and company in a different time period where they would cause no harm to the current US.

Now, back in 2016, there was a story in the DU about characters going to the alternate dimensional home of Tanook; a place called Dororai. You had a choice as to what you wanted your characters to do there and I chose to have Great-Man enter a fighting exhibition match against Tropical Thunder. At the climax of the fight, The Alphas disappeared.  fav.me/da4by3u I tried to go back and SHOW what happened fav.me/dajj7pd but never finished it.

What had happened was that Dr. Shock had transported the Alphas back in time to the day of the very first Genocide Wave in the DU fav.me/d6jpszd This was the one where EVERY DEVIANT in the DU disappeared and reappeared several months later. It was Shock's plan that the Alphas would disappear, then reappear as if rebooted in the timeline only to be eventually transported back in time in 2016. This would create a loop that would essentially eliminate the Alphas without actually killing them.

Ah time travel stories. Make sense? No?

Well, in the story, Great-Man, Vicky and Dragstrip were able to use their super speed in order to go back to their present (2016) and fight Dr. Shock, and, eventually The Mighty American in a story called the Great American War. (starts here fav.me/dav2z8k read the whole thing if you like)

Now, only Great-Man, Dragstrip and Vicky Velocity traveled back to 2016. So what happened to the REST of the Alphas? It has been assumed that they were swallowed up by the Genocide Wave. But, as we see on this page, they weren't. So, what do a trio of disgruntled, abandoned and left for dead super ladies do when stuck in the past? Stay tuned for more.
