AWESOME SHOT!
I have always wanted to capture such an image of my favorite rock stars. Rock n roll photography is a sadly overlooked art, but it's also such an opportunistic art, unless, of course, you've got inside sources and connections! ...which I don't ...
Pearl Jam has always been one of my favorite bands, and I have a huge respect for Eddie Vedder. He had nearly deity status in my life during the 90's! Ah, but such is the way of a teenage mind, eveready to deify anything that awes them. I've always wanted to meet him, just to say "Thank you for opening my eyes to a greater world beyond myself, and thank you for making me think." My local radio station was one of the few that broadcast his live Self Pollution Radio in it's entirety despite the hot topics covered, and I sat alone in the dark in my room and listened to all of it over my headphones.
I've seen Pearl Jam only twice: once in San Francisco and once in San Jose, and both back in 1996, and I have not had the opportunity to see them again since then. I kick myself that I didn't take the opportunity I was granted to see them perform back to back with Soundgarden in a free concert in Kansas City in 1992. (I think it was Kansas City? Maybe it was just near Kansas City? I know I was living in Kansas near KC at the time.) My friends told me about it afterward. Pearl Jam and Soundgarden each performed songs from their own bands, and then they came together to perform a few songs from the Temple of the Dog project, too. OH! Oh I wish I could have seen Eddie Vedder and Chris Cornell singing Hunger Strike together! I was asked if I wanted to go, and I don't even remember why I didn't now.
Great photo! Instant fave.

Thanks! This picture was taken in may 2006, I was front and center, so I was able to get great photos of Eddie. I swear, if I could live at a Pearl Jam concert, I would! I feel so at home there! I've been a fan since the begining also. Maybe you might still get a chance to see Chris sing with Eddie, you never know! I've been to 12 pearl jam shows, and one soundgarden show right before they broke up.
~~Talk again soon! & thanks for your beautiful comments
