Oh heck yeah. She was preternatural, man. Seems that once every couple centuries the human race receives a uniquely divine gift to the arts. . . she was certainly among that special group of masters. Anyway she is also of high deltiological interest. Bernhardt postcards are coveted amongst my oldest cronies who are in the know about such things. Some of the younger fellas who are into the theatre have recently picked up on it too and are scooping them up as old collections become available.

here's a rare post card puzzle set of her in various acting roles.
(not mine!) I would not spend the money this goes for - I'd rather take a fishing trip

I would have loved to see her as Lady Macbeth!!!Β

On an unrelated note, apart from the theatrical arts, guess whose voice I am listening to at the moment?

Roddy oh and YT gave me side links to more HPL records too, apparently reading horror aloud is a whole genre...
oh that would be a nice record to have on for atmosphere during a foggy misty evening in New England, in October. . . You know I do want to get up to see Cape Cod again one of these winters - and the entire north of Boston area is amazing, really. But not during the summer - Summer's delightful of course but expensive and crowded with tourists and summer warriors.

but Bernhardt as Lady M, Bernhardt as Cleopatra, Bernhardt as Hamlet (I heard from a friend that Glenn Close was going to do that in New York?) - and in a fantasy casting I'd cast Bernhardt as in pretty much anything Kate Hepburn ever did, I'd like to see her take on Queen Eleanor in Lion in Winter!

An hour of cosmic horror before sleep must produce some very colorful dreams.
btw I mean to give you this last night? but I conked out early. www.youtube.com/watch?v=i6FkDC…
it came recommended to me since I was tuned to Roddy McDowall reading H.P. Lovecraft.
He's nowhere as cool as our darling Bookworm but maybe you'll enjoy it. Pleasant nightmares!

Oh, yes, I'm familiar with the McCallum readings--he even says the cat's name out loud!

But did I ever show you this Lovecraft-inspired film?Β  It's...unsettling...

"It looks like an octopus," I replied.
