hehe yeah In-camera it can be hard to tell because the previews look so small and appear pretty flat even when I open the raw files on the computer for the first time. Then my excitement builds when I combine the exposures together to reveal more subtle shades of contrast and sometimes a splash of surreal colors

All the better if they can inspire you with a story My stock can be used to help as a cover as long as you can credit and link back.

I usually process my photos in their more natural colours first and if you're referring to the winding park road in DC, the original green version is here: freestock.ca/americas_g98-rock…

One of those days actually where I wasn't too inspired on the creative front, but happened to bring my camera along. Pleasantly surprised with how the natural green version turned out, so I experimented with different colour schemes Something I tend to do at the very end with the mindset of trying to make something good look better, while understanding that some people prefer more natural environments. I have to admit though it's more fun when I experiment with colours because that alone can alter the mood of an image dramatically. Also interesting to see how others interpret it because the same colour can mean different things from one person to the next.

that's true... the pinkness of the DA image suprised me quite a bit lol, it is mosst certainly more of a fantasy kind of feeling...either that or sakura blossoms in japan or something lol.

I know the feeling about the "not feeling too inspired...yet receiving pleasant surprises with results" thing... that's how about 60% of my posts are ...
i'll keep that in mind with the next piece i write... i may have a use for an image or 2 ^^
i'll probably have to look through them all again lol

Sold my place in Montreal and anchored down now in DC. Still lots of unknowns as I start over here, but the most important thing is to keep my head up How are you?

That's really awesome! I've been great, though my message center has been an explosion of insanity lately. I'm finally getting caught up a bit now that PE week is over. I think you'll do wonderfully in DC. I love the new stock you've added, they're really beautiful! Catch me on skype sometime and let's catch up!

You're welcome, Nick!   Just like you want to type out Canada with my name, I always want to add an "i" to the end of yours because my cat's name is Nicki. His real name is Nicolas too.

boldfrontiers In reply to Cinnamoncandy [2014-09-04 17:42:45 +0000 UTC]

Hehe some kids in my childhood used to call me Nicki just to tease me

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Cinnamoncandy In reply to boldfrontiers [2014-09-04 18:31:51 +0000 UTC]

So would you get annoyed if someone started calling you Nicki?  I guess the real reason why I want to type out Nicki is because I used to role-play a vampire named Nicolas, whom also went by Nicki (from Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles).  So, when I start typing the "i" automatically follows out of habit (even years later).  And, yep, my cat is named after a vampire. I always said that if I ever had a child and it was a boy his name would be Nicolas.  My cat is my child so I named him Nicolas.

Nah, it was between friends where we liked to push each other's buttons to keep things interesting. I miss those years even though I'm a bit more civilized now

It's okay to get a little uncivilized every now and then.  As long as you don't end up in jail it's all good.
