I don't have a Sasuke obsession............. >u>; not at all...

Anyhow, I saw some pictures on tumblr where Naruto characters were drawn to look like real people... and it inspired me to try my hand at drawing Sasuke in a less cartoonish style than I usually do. I LOVE how it turned out, especially his hair! Man, when I was younger, I would've hated it if I'd drawn his hair like this, I would have thought it too disorderly. But now, this style looks more real to me. This is one of the styles for drawing hair that's always come more naturally to me. Time to stop pushing it away...

After doing the lineart, I was thinking about some pictures I'd drawn with pastel in a figure drawing class (pictures I really liked), and tried to mimic that look with a colored backdrop and white highlights. I think it's a pretty successful look.

Hmm, perhaps I should make portraits of other characters too.
