Description
Rider name: Derek Triansten
Horse name: CS Try Uki
Class: Freejumping
Story
Their first ever outing. Their one-time impression of the equine world. The words were supposed to make an average rider shiver – although Derek felt suprizingly chill for what was to decide Catzmareigne Stables’ future. Pemberley Park Event bore a pleasant feeling of excitement with her, like drizzle in a red-hot heatwave; cool, brisk and gratifying. It was perhaps that sense of change that he had longed the most.
… And Uki did not seem to mind the alternation too. In fact, he was 100-percent ready to explore the new terrain - with or without his handler. He did not intend to go slower then a trot and decided to make it heard that he had arrived, inclusively flaring nostrils and wide-open mounth. The long trip had made the young stallion full of fresh energy – even a bit too full, it seemed. Derek let the leadrope slip a bit further through his fingers so he could blow off some steam … Resulting in an acrobatic spectacle of struts and prances.
“Prick,” he muttered under his breath, but he did not feel the intention to tighten his grip on the rope. Showing off a little in a big show like this wouldn’t exactly hurt – it was a good start to set up Uki’s reputation in the show circuit, and Catzmareignes name with it.
Not that their name would make such a spectacular entrance. Derek had picked up the rumour some of the more well-known faces were planning to pop up at Pemberley Park and if his eyes did not betray him, he had even spotted HSE Zanzibar at the starting list this morning; a promising six-year-old Zlesdin who had quite a prosperous showing season behind him. If good fortune was at their side today, they could already forget about that starry-eyed start they had anticipated for. Maybe practise and experience were more realistic keywords for today – the stallion was still a rookie and had a long way to go. There was still plenty of time to grab that fairy-like victory.
As soon as they entered the arena, Uki eventually settled down; perhaps he was as much impressed about it as Derek was. Compared to this titan their indoor irena was less then a dwarf, with spotlights throwing an intense shimmer over the horses’ shiny coat and a footing as soft and resilient as a gymnastics mat. With a short tug he brought Uki to a half-trippling halt to disconnect the lead rope, but the stallion already set off before he was fully loose; bucking himself proudly to freedom. He gave his surroundings a closer inspection and then, he was off – approaching the first jump with his powerful canter. Derek sighted gently before he brought himself to safety at the other side of the rope. Now, it was only a matter of luck.

Heh, Uki and Catzmareigne Stables’ first outing!
This entry was … Quite a mess. I wanted to try something different then the classic free-jumping perspective and then I somehow thought: “What if I make the angle somehow half behind the jump?” It was the biggest mistake of my life. These legs. I suffered.
Otherwise this was a really nice thing to make! Even though I find the background rather messy – black is the least forgiving color to color with – I had fun with the jump! Even though the requirements said “white standards”, I imagined the rope would be stretched around some older, metal standards to keep the rope tight.
To avoid any future confusion … This event is a LOT further then where my lil’ storyline will be – Uki would be approximately 3 years old in this picture. Just to fit in the age requirements. ^^

I shamelessly enjoyed your writing, seriously! Very balanced between description and action, and you switched very smoothly from Derek to Uki - yes, absolutely loved this
Also, allow me to commend you for the daring choice of angle - and for braving through it, despite the true Hell that is drawing horse legs! Horses as a whole are messy as it can be, so don't worry - you'll get the hang of them in no time!
STILL! Awesome first outing for #TeamCatzmareigne - here's to many more to come

You're welcome! I know I love when someone takes some time to read my writing aswell
Getting back in the saddle (hurr hurr) is a bit of a pain, but once you get settled into a somewhat regular drawing schedule you should be all set! Starting it's half the task, really - and better a little every day than trying to fit everything in one go! And don't worry for the late reply - I've been going through a bit of a message spree lately, and got back on several things I wanted to comment on so badly but never quite got the time to, hehe
