Thank you! I've been doing that a lot lately (and it's harder than it looks, believe me!), I did that with the duct tape, too. Check a lot of my recent pictures, you'll see that Google Images and the cloning tool have been my friends
I liked the background before I posted the pic, afterwards I wasn't all that crazy about it for reasons similar to what you mentioned. There was a method to my madness though, the pink of her blouse in the background helps hide the areas that the cloning tool didn't do such a hot job on in her blouse

Funny you picked green, that's a similar shade I used for the background layer after I'd erased all of the white of the paper before and during coloring.
