Description
A theoretical attempt to decipher where the lands of the Matoran Universe are situated in their respective domes. Just one of many possible interpretations, but the one I'm using for my upcoming Bionicle retelling, the Destiny of Bionicle (for BZPower). Looks great but I'm pretty sure both the Northern and Southern Continents are supposed to be in his chest. I mean it just makes sense that Karda Nui, the Heart of Mata Nui is located where his heart would be. we even see the Ignika launch from his chest.

This is one of the best layouts I've seen of the Matoran Universe. Could the pistons from the Neck and the shoulder work as tunnels as well? Either way, such a structure would be incredible to build in real life. I admire the Great Beings for being able to conceive of this project in their universe. I think there also a tunnel between Metru Nui and Mata Nui (the island). I think it was used by the Toa Metru, Karzahni (plant), and Makuta as a passageway between the two islands.

I notice that Karda Nui was the central power core, and is the shape of a massive sphere -- where you currently have the NC. Perhaps the NC is in the tapered cylinder shape under the base of the neck, and the lands there are more scrunched up his long neck? Then the little round fob just under the chest plates would make sense as being the hatch, or Mt. Valmai.

Are you referring to one of the concept pieces that showed Karda Nui as a sphere instead of a dome? That's clearly non-canon as it doesn't include the SC over it or the sand floor of Karda Nui.
However, the rest of what you said is valid.

Where is Mata Nui? I used to be really into Bionicle years ago but I left the fandom around the time the Pirahka (sp?) came out. I'm not sure how the series ended so this is a little confusing to me.

Are you asking about Mata Nui Island? As mentioned on the map, it was a camouflage island that appeared over the face when the giant robot laid on its back in an ocean on various alien planets, and the incarnation that we saw in 2001 was accidentally triggered in the Great Cataclysm when the giant crashed on Aqua Magna. a very well laid map though the southern continent is in his cheats cavity so you'll have to recheck where its position is theirs a map of the surface detailing where voya nui is, another note more than one island can exist in the same dome

It is actually not known whether the SC is in the upper or lower torso. The official map certainly seems to imply it is how I have shown it.

Actually it's from fabers blog christian Faber is an artist who did much of the concept art for bionicle as well as structured it's bible type fabersblog.com and you'll see what I mean

I'm well aware of Faber Files, but I do not recall anything being stated there about the location of the SC. Could you be more specific? Which page? Are you sure you're remembering right?
In any case, even if it's stated that was the idea in planning stages that doesn't necessarily mean it's confirmed canon. *shrugs*

Right, I remember that now. But it was obviously a very early image, made before the official map was released. Notice the continent isn't even depicted at all; Karda Nui is just put right below the hole Voya Nui would make. Basically, we can't rely on that image, as the southern continent clearly wasn't even planned yet at that point.
