Description Borgund Stave Church was built just before 1150, and dedicated to the Apostle St. Andrew. It is one of the best preserved stave churches and it has not been added to or rebuilt since it was new.
Situated in Laerdal, Norway.

I sooooo want a house like that except w/o the crosses, in the north carolina mountains, perhaps on a cliff haha, it would be so out of place in america but at the same time so awesome

Good shot of a lovely building in a fabulous setting.

You were lucky with the weather! I've only been there once - in 1969 - and it was peeing down. You could barely see the hill behind the church, and my camera wasn't waterproof, so no pics!

Weather was better than i expected in Norway .Some overcast days but generally fine . Always rains in Bergen though but usually only lasts an hour or so then blows out, probably due to its coastal setting and such.

Like I said - lucky you! Although truth to tell, that's been my experience, too, on my two trips to Norway. But Borgund happened to be very wet the day I was there, and I didn't get there on the second trip.
